Job Description

SMG seeks a local HSE Advisor - Owner's Rep in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The key function is to put safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client’s needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible regarding change and travel.

of Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop a contractor “Blindspot” auditing process to identify contractors who may be working on-site without proper qualifications and/or safety planning.
  • Partner with the client's HSE team to support safety improvement initiatives.
  • Help develop contractor task planning and verify proper execution in the field.
  • Conduct site observations with a special emphasis on permit audits.
  • Onboarding support to client contractor stakeholders/hosts regarding badging and qualification.
  • Support the implementation of the qualification process on behalf of client hosts with submission of contractor requests, conditional approvals, and monitoring the status of contractors going through the qualification process.
  • Advisor to support and be a liaison to the client stakeholders and contractors working on-site.
  • The advisor will provide regular status updates to client hosts with onboarding status.
  • Advisor to assist HSE aspect owners with HSE program maintenance and contractor safety oversight.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5+ years of HSE experience
  • BCSP cert preferred
  • Pharmaceutical experience preferred
  • Experience in safety management programs
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Effective presentation and communication skills

  • Moving about long distances
  • Ascending/Descending stairs and ladders
  • Remaining in a stationary position for a prolonged period
  • Working in extreme weather
  • Being exposed to loud noises
  • Wearing personal protective gear correctly
