Job Description
Primary accountable for HSSE support and guidance for OPG. The position duties are given
below but these are not limited, and additional ones can be directed by the Supervisor.
- Communicate effectively with personnel at all levels including client representative
and onshore project team/manager. - Support line management to deploy
o HSSE policies & procedures
o Core Processes
o CHESSM HSSE expectations
o Environmental requirements
o New HSSE initiatives - Review and implement HSSE Procedures
- Participates in:
o Management Meetings.
o Management site visits.
o MOC - Assess risks and develop risk control measures suitable for the work being
undertaken - Conduct HSSE trainings and maintain records.
- Carry out HSSE assessments & workplace inspections audits
- Track, monitors & provides updates on HSSE corrective actions including HSSE
improvement plans - Participate and support line management to prepare for HSSE meetings.
- Mentor line management & employees on HSSE issues
- Ensure the PPE risk assessment is current.
- Support line management to report, investigate incidents and implement corrective
actions. - Ensure Waste standards and MSDS are in place.
- Participate in incident reporting and investigations.
- Review and provide HSSE performance data to clients
- Track HSSE legislation to ensure compliance
- Enjoin line management to develop and implement their annual HSSE targets & goals
- Lead the emergency response efforts including medical evacuation
- Coordinates the drug abuse policy including random screening of personnel as
required. - Coordinates the Project HSSE Award program
- Bachelor's degree in a safety related field preferred
- NEBOSH or OSHA Safety certification
- Very good spoken and written English
- Working knowledge of HSSE Law
- Working knowledge of HSSE Processes
- Working knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement processes
- Good presentation skills
- Good written & communication skills.
