Our Munitions teams in Benalla and Mulwala produce propellants, explosives and munitions for defence and commercial uses. With ongoing investment into research and development, we produce some of the world’s most high-performing guided weapons and explosive ordnance systems. We’re seeking a proactive HSE Advisor to champion Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance across our construction projects and operational sites.
Working at our sites in Benalla on Yorta Yorta land, your role purpose is to -
• Ensuring compliance with Thales HSE systems, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.
• Inspecting, auditing, and monitoring construction sites to mitigate risks and uphold safety protocols.
• Coaching leaders and teams to foster a risk-focused HSE culture—from management to operational levels.
• Leading incident investigations, hazard reporting, and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Supporting environmental sustainability through waste management, chemical handling, and EMS compliance.
• Collaborating with regulatory agencies and maintaining meticulous records for audits and permits.
On day one in this role, we'll expect you to bring the following skills, experience and behaviours:
• First experience in HSE advisory roles, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or high-risk industries.
• A good understanding of State/Federal WHS legislation, Safety Management Systems, and injury/incident management.
• Certificate IV/Diploma in Work Health & Safety (highly desirable).
• Strong coaching, auditing, and stakeholder engagement abilities with a proactive, solutions-driven mindset
• Ability to work site based
