Job Description

Elecnor is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to join our team on a BESS Project in South Australia. This role will oversee the early works phase, including civil construction, and will transition into high-voltage construction activities as the project progresses.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations. You will work closely with project management and site teams to develop, implement, and maintain effective HSE policies and procedures that promote a safe, proactive, and positive safety culture across the project.

Please note: This is not a FIFO or DIDO role, and accommodation is not provided. The project site is located within 30 minutes of Port Adelaide

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement our HSE management system and best practices
  • Conduct audits and inspections to identify hazards
  • Assess risks, and apply necessary control measures
  • Provide guidance on HSE requirements, policies, and procedures
  • Work with internal teams to design and deliver training program
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses
  • Implementing corrective and preventive actions
  • Coordinate and participate in emergency response drills
  • Ensuring employees are well-prepared for emergencies
  • Monitor and report on HSE performance, compiling data
  • Track HSE regulations, trends, and best practices
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting HSE initiatives

Qualifications and Experience

  • Cert 4 in Work Health and Safety (BSB41419) or higher (mandatory)
  • Valid Australian work rights
  • Valid Driver Licence
  • General Safety Induction / White Card (CPCWHS1001)
  • Current First Aid - (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) Certifications
  • Formally trained in an incident investigation training course preferred such as Conduct Safety and Health Investigations (RIIWHS301E) / Lead Initial Response to and Investigate WHS Incidents (BSBWHS515) / Investigate Incidents (PMAWHS310)
  • Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing (HLTPAT005) or equivalent preferred.
  • Alcolizer Tester training (LE5) preferred
  • Operate as part of an emergency control organisation (PUAFER005) preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Australian HSE legislation, regulations, and industry standards
  • Proficient in using Microsoft applications including general software and tools for data management, reporting, and analysis

  • Sound communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement effective control measures.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and soft skills with the ability to build constructive relationships and influence stakeholders at the project level.
  • Sound level of attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the leading standards of health, safety, and environmental practices.
  • Ability to administer personal data in a confidential, professional, and competent manner
