Job Description


HS Code & Customs Classification Governance
Develop and maintain a standardized global HS Code classification framework across all markets.
Ensure consistency in classification rules, documentation, and data structure across countries.
Strengthen internal controls to improve classification accuracy and ensure audit readiness.
Ensure compliance with local customs regulations and international trade requirements.

Trade Data Quality & Compliance Control
Improve the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of trade and customs data.
Review classification records, import declarations, and supporting documentation.
Reduce compliance risks and exposure to customs penalties or post-clearance audits.
Establish governance mechanisms to ensure ongoing data integrity.

Process Improvement & Operational Efficiency
Conduct regular gap analysis on HS Code and trade compliance processes.
Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvement initiatives.
Work with operational teams to enhance workflow efficiency and reduce manual errors.
Improve team capability to enable stronger decision-making rather than administrative coordination.

Digital Transformation & Automation
Drive digitalisation initiatives for HS Code and trade data management.
Collaborate with IT and CoE teams to build structured systems, databases, and automation workflows.
Support future implementation of AI-assisted classification tools and smart compliance systems.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with import, procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure correct classification at source.
Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on HS Code and compliance requirements.
Act as key liaison between operational teams and the Centre of Excellence.

Scalable Framework Development
Design scalable classification and trade data frameworks to support rapid SKU expansion.
Ensure systems and processes are capable of supporting multi-country growth.
Build long-term governance structure aligned with global expansion strategy.


Requirements


  • Minimum 7 years of experience in trade compliance, customs classification, or HS Code management.

  • Experience in retail, FMCG, trading, logistics, or high SKU-volume industries is highly preferred.

  • Exposure to multi-country or regional trade operations is an advantage.

  • Experience in process improvement, transformation, or digitalization projects.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of HS Code classification and customs regulations

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience in process improvement or operational transformation

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills

  • Ability to work with cross-functional and multicultural teams

  • Data-driven mindset with attention to detail
