Athletic Coach � HS Golf Assistant Coach

Octorara Area School District is seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic individual to serve as an Assistant Coach for the Octorara HS Golf program. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to student-athlete development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and the overall mission of the Octorara Area School District.

Position Details

Compensation: 6 Points @ $653 per point = $3918.00

Essential Responsibilities

The Assistant Coach will be responsible for:

• Assisting the Head Coach with the leadership, instruction, supervision, and development of student-athletes participating in the program.
• Assisting with the planning and implementation of practices that promote skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and competitive excellence.
• Providing instruction and support in appropriate techniques, fundamentals, strategies, rules, and safety practices.
• Creating and maintaining a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for all student-athletes.
• Serving as a positive role model and mentor for student-athletes.
• Supporting the Head Coach in establishing and maintaining appropriate team expectations and program standards.
• Assisting with the supervision of student-athletes during practices, competitions, travel, and other team activities.
• Encouraging student participation and supporting efforts to build and maintain the program.
• Communicating effectively and professionally with student-athletes, parents/guardians, coaches, school administration, and other stakeholders.
• Working collaboratively with the Head Coach and other coaching staff to support the overall success of the program.
• Promoting good sportsmanship and representing Octorara Area School District in a professional manner.
• Maintaining compliance with PIAA rules, District policies, and applicable athletic regulations.
• Attending practices, competitions, meetings, and other program activities as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director.
• Performing other duties related to the athletic program as assigned by the Head Coach, Athletic Director, or administration.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must:

• Demonstrate the ability to work effectively and positively with student-athletes.
• Serve as a positive role model and mentor.
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of golf, including techniques, strategies, rules, and fundamentals.
• Possess strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with the Head Coach, coaching staff, parents/guardians, administrators, and school staff.
• Demonstrate a commitment to developing student-athletes both athletically and personally.
• Prior coaching and/or competitive experience in golf is preferred.

Required Clearances & Training

All required Pennsylvania clearances and PIAA trainings must be completed in accordance with District and PIAA requirements prior to assuming coaching responsibilities.
