Job Description

Australia-based | Hybrid & Flexible | Full-time | Permanent

Make Oracle HCM work better for our people and our business

Join Abt Global Australia in a hands-on HRIS role where you will have the autonomy to solve problems, improve how we work and make a visible difference.

We are looking for an experienced HRIS Specialist to be our primary Oracle HCM functional resource in Australia. You will work across Recruiting, Core HR, Journeys, Performance, Learning, Compensation, Security and OTBI – configuring the system, solving complex issues, building reports and delivering practical improvements.

You will be the escalation point for more complex HRIS issues, working independently to investigate problems, identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions. Where an issue requires enterprise-level configuration or specialist technical support, you will work with our global HRIS and technology teams to drive it through to resolution.

You will also help us get more from Oracle HCM – improving processes and self-service, progressing our pipeline of enhancements, strengthening reporting and governance, and assessing new Oracle functionality, including emerging AI-enabled features.

What you will do

As our HRIS Specialist, you will:

  • Provide hands-on functional administration and configuration of Oracle HCM Cloud (Oracle Fusion) across Recruiting, Core HR, Journeys, Performance, Learning, Compensation, Security and OTBI.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex HRIS issues, independently investigating and resolving functional, configuration, reporting and data issues and identifying root causes of recurring problems.
  • Build, modify and maintain OTBI reports and dashboards, translating business requirements into accurate, secure and effective reporting solutions.
  • Proactively identify and implement opportunities to improve Oracle HCM functionality, HR processes, user experience and self-service.
  • Maintain and progress a prioritised pipeline of system enhancements and improvements, working with stakeholders to understand requirements and configure approved solutions.
  • Assess Oracle releases and emerging functionality, including AI-enabled features, and coordinate testing and implementation of approved changes.
  • Support the configuration, testing and delivery of key annual HR processes through Oracle HCM, including performance and compensation cycles.
  • Partner with Payroll and global technology teams on functional requirements, integrations, system issues and Oracle environment activities.
  • Maintain strong HRIS governance and documentation across system configuration, security and access, privacy, data quality, reporting and testing.
  • Provide functional advice, guidance and training to HR, Payroll and other system users.

About you

You are an experienced HRIS professional with strong hands-on Oracle HCM capability who enjoys getting into the detail and making systems work better.

You can take a problem, work out what is really going on and see it through to resolution. You are comfortable working independently, taking ownership of your deliverables and balancing operational priorities with longer-term improvement work. You can also translate business requirements into practical configuration and reporting solutions and work effectively with HR, Payroll and technology colleagues.

You don’t need to be an Oracle developer or technical architect. We are looking for strong functional Oracle HCM capability, sound HR systems knowledge and someone who can operate with a high degree of independence.

What you will bring

  • Strong hands-on Oracle HCM Cloud (Oracle Fusion) experience, with broad functional capability across the platform and strong OTBI reporting skills.
  • The technical depth and problem-solving capability to independently diagnose complex HRIS issues, identify root causes and develop practical solutions.
  • A strong understanding of HR systems, processes and employee lifecycle data, including the importance of security, privacy, data integrity and good system governance.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to see where systems and processes could work better and turn ideas into practical improvements.
  • Strong ownership and organisational skills – you can manage competing priorities, work with a high degree of independence and follow things through to completion.
  • The ability to translate business needs into system solutions and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A collaborative approach and the confidence to work effectively across HR, Payroll and global technology teams.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience.

Eligibility

Applicants must have the right to live and work in Australia. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Why join Abt?

At Abt, you will do work that matters.

You will join a purpose-driven organisation where your work contributes to better outcomes for people and communities across Australia and the Indo-Pacific.

This is a broad, hands-on HRIS role where you will be close enough to the business to see the impact of your work. You will have the autonomy to solve problems, improve how Oracle HCM works for our people and help us get more from the system, while connecting with colleagues and technology teams globally.

We offer:

  • Meaningful, purpose-driven work that contributes to improving lives.
  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements that support you to thrive.
  • A broad, hands-on Oracle HCM role with the autonomy to make a difference.
  • Genuine opportunities to improve systems, processes and the employee experience.
  • Opportunities to learn, grow and continue developing your career.
  • A collaborative and inclusive workplace where you are respected, your ideas are valued and leaders trust and support you to succeed.
