HRIS Analyst - Decatur, IL

The HRIS Data Analyst I is responsible for supporting data maintenance, reporting, auditing, and basic analysis within ADM’s Human Resource Information System, SuccessFactors. This role focuses on maintaining accurate HR and payroll-related data, assisting with routine reporting, supporting system users, and helping identify data issues or process improvement opportunities.
The HRIS Data Analyst I works under the guidance of experienced HRIS team members and partners with HR, Payroll, Benefits, IT, Timekeeping, and other business stakeholders to support HR system processes, payroll data accuracy, data integrity, and operational needs.
This role supports payroll-related activities by validating employee data, reviewing payroll-impacting transactions, assisting with audits, supporting payroll reporting, and helping resolve data discrepancies that may impact pay.

Key Responsibilities
Payroll Data Support

  • Support payroll-related data validation to help ensure employees are paid accurately and timely.
  • Review and validate payroll-impacting employee data changes, including but not limited to new hires, rehires, terminations, job changes, pay rate changes, location changes, cost center changes, supervisor/manager changes, employment status changes, work schedule or standard hours changes
  • Assist with auditing HRIS data that feeds payroll systems, timekeeping systems, benefits systems, and downstream integrations.
  • Support review of payroll pre-processing reports, error reports, and exception reports as assigned.
  • Research basic payroll-related data issues and partner with Payroll to support timely resolution.
  • Assist with validating earnings, deductions, tax-related employee data, direct deposit indicators, and other payroll-impacting fields where applicable.
  • Help identify missing, incorrect, or incomplete payroll-related data prior to payroll processing deadlines.
  • Support payroll calendar activities by completing assigned HRIS data validations in alignment with payroll processing timelines.
  • Assist with retroactive data corrections and validation of payroll-impacting transactions.
  • Support payroll year-end activities, including data clean-up, reporting, and audit support.
  • Escalate urgent or complex payroll-impacting issues to Payroll, HRIS leadership, or IT as appropriate.

Timekeeping and Attendance Data Support

  • Assist with validating employee data used by timekeeping systems, including work schedules, supervisor assignments, location, pay group, and employment status.
  • Support basic troubleshooting of timekeeping-related data issues that originate from HRIS data.
  • Partner with Payroll, Timekeeping, HR, and Operations to research discrepancies between HRIS, payroll, and timekeeping systems.
  • Assist with routine audits to ensure hourly employees are assigned to the correct timekeeping profiles, approvers, work schedules, and pay groups.
  • Support reporting related to timekeeping readiness, missing approvals, schedule discrepancies, and payroll-impacting time issues as assigned.

System Support & Maintenance

  • Assist with routine HRIS maintenance activities, including data clean-up, validation, and testing.
  • Support system testing for upgrades, patches, enhancements, integrations, and new functionality under the direction of senior team members.
  • Assist with testing payroll-related HRIS changes to confirm data flows accurately to payroll, timekeeping, benefits, and other downstream systems.
  • Document testing results, issues, and follow-up actions.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve HRIS processes, reporting, payroll data quality, and user experience.
  • Provide basic system support to HR users and escalate technical or complex issues as appropriate.
  • Follow established HRIS procedures, workflows, payroll data governance standards, and internal controls.

Reporting, Auditing & Compliance

  • Assist with compliance-related reporting, audits, payroll audits, and internal reviews.
  • Generate or support routine HR and payroll-related reports, including:
    • Employee master data reports
    • New hire and termination reports
    • Job and compensation change reports
    • Payroll-impacting data change reports
    • Missing or incomplete data reports
    • Cost center and organizational assignment reports
    • Timekeeping and supervisor assignment reports
  • Follow established data privacy requirements, including GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable laws and company policies.
  • Maintain documentation for routine reports, processes, job aids, and data validation procedures.
  • Support audit preparation by gathering data, validating report outputs, documenting findings, and assisting with follow-up actions.
  • Help ensure HRIS data supports payroll compliance requirements, internal controls, and accurate employee payments.
  • Escalate potential compliance, security, payroll, or data integrity concerns to HRIS leadership.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

The pay range for this position is expected to be between:

$63,000.00 - $99,100.00
