ACTUARIAL DIRECTOR – P&C – BERMUDA – ONLY 10% TAX – HR102

With a strong actuarial consulting practice, our client has been a key player in Bermuda's insurance industry for several decades, helping institutions manage risk and strengthen long-term performance.

The Company invites applications for the position of Actuarial Director within the Property / Casualty practice with knowledge and experience of insurance and reinsurance including loss reserving and risk management.

The successful applicant will be developing and delivering reserve studies, capital management and pricing analyses for our (re)insurance company and ILS fund clients. You will play a key role in their marketing efforts and the growth of this practice area through client interaction, thought leadership, and quality work execution. As a project manager, you will bring order and process to the client teams with whom you work, and you will serve as a resource to analysts as you help them build their technical and client-facing expertise. You will be expected to meet billable hours and sales goals as described by your manager.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Directly contribute to client projects through applying technical actuarial expertise
• Deliver superior, consistent project management for assigned clients
• Draft statements of work, project plans and budgets involving multiple workflow streams and client teams
• Serve as the day-to-day project lead, ensuring the progress of the team against established objectives, budget, timeline, deliverables and quality standards
• Support the generation of new business and broadening relationships with existing clients as part of a broader team, including serving on account management teams for specific assigned clients
• Develop a trusted advisor relationship with client contacts through effective communication and efficient, quality execution of projects
• Manage client expectations and raise appropriate issues to other associates and Client Relationship Managers
• Interface with colleagues from other practices and regions on assignments that reflect the client's broader business issues
• Contribute to intellectual property development and research efforts, including development of new tools and approaches
• Support the generation of new business as part of the broader team
• Develop new business opportunities and enhance existing relationships
• Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams

What you’ll need

• Undergraduate degree
• Fellow or Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society, Fellow of Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, or equivalent professional qualification required
• A minimum of seven years' relevant actuarial experience
• Knowledge and experience with insurance and reinsurance including loss reserving and risk management
• Strong analytical skills including ability to draw conclusions and identify trends from data
• Proven experience successfully managing multiple projects
• Technically proficient in MS Excel and working knowledge of MS PowerPoint and MS Word
