Looking for a role that fits your life — without putting your career on hold?

IDSS is looking for an organised, people-focused HR Support Officer to join our team at our Childers Hub in a permanent part-time position.

Working 9:00am to 3:00pm, Monday to Friday, this is a great opportunity for an experienced administrator or emerging HR professional who wants meaningful, consistent weekday hours while still being part of a busy and varied people-focused role.

At IDSS, we do things a little differently. We're passionate about making a genuine difference in the lives of vulnerable people in our communities, and we believe the people who work with us are a huge part of what makes that possible.

What you'll be doing

No two days will be exactly the same. You'll work closely with our management team and support the day-to-day delivery of our HR function, including:

  • Coordinating new employee onboarding and maintaining accurate personnel records
  • Preparing and reviewing employment contracts and HR documentation
  • Assisting with the interpretation and application of industrial awards and employment legislation
  • Responding to employee queries about HR-related matters
  • Supporting performance appraisal processes
  • Providing rostering and Time & Attendance support
  • Assisting with payroll processing
  • Assisting with workers compensation matters and claims
  • Supporting administration relating to training, WHS and human resources
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee files and systems
  • Assisting with HR projects and other initiatives across the organisation

We'd love to hear from you if you...

Are one of those people who enjoys having things organised, notices the detail others miss and gets genuine satisfaction from getting things done.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Previous experience in HR administration, business administration, payroll, rostering or a similar support role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to work with employees and leaders at all levels
  • Excellent organisation and time-management skills
  • The ability to juggle competing priorities and change direction when needed
  • Strong attention to detail and a "no job too small" attitude
  • Intermediate to advanced skills across Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Experience with rostering or workforce management software would be highly regarded
  • A Certificate IV in Business Administration or Human Resources would be advantageous, but isn't essential

More importantly, you'll be reliable, approachable and comfortable working in an environment where things can move quickly.

Why IDSS?

Our purpose is bigger than simply delivering services.

Our vision is to close the gap and embrace vulnerable members of our community by building independence, empowering resilience and strengthening community connections

We're a passionate team, and we're looking for someone who wants to contribute to that purpose while bringing their own ideas, skills and personality to the role.
