About the role | Mō te tūranga mahi

Do you have a passion for administration, strong technical capability, and a growing interest in Human Resources? This role offers an excellent stepping stone into the HR profession, giving you hands on experience with HR systems, processes, and people focused support. We have an opportunity for someone with exceptional customer focus, proven digital confidence, and a genuine curiosity about how HR works behind the scenes.

As a member of the P&C People Systems team, you’ll work at the heart of our People operations. We look after a wide range of people transactions, so you’ll enjoy working with technology, navigating systems, and continually developing your HR knowledge.

You’ll be the go-to person for providing specialist HR administrative and technical support, helping to ensure our people have a seamless experience as they move through key points in their employment journey.

You’ll be working on a variety of tasks, including:

  • Providing accurate, timely HR administrative and system related support
  • Using HR systems to confidently manage and process a wide range of HR transactions
  • Managing the delivery of employment documentation through digital platforms
  • Responding to our onboarding phoneline, including providing technical troubleshooting to new employees
  • Supporting customers to navigate systems and access information independently
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, tools, and system clarity
  • Keeping documentation, systems, and processes accurate and up to date

This role is ideal if you’re looking to build a solid foundation in HR and grow your understanding of how People & Culture operates.

The appointing salary for this role is $61,766 - $75,000 based on experience. ACC offers a comprehensive benefits package which at present includes an advantageous superannuation scheme (9% contribution) with features like no mandatory employee contribution, optional life and income protection insurance.

This is a fixed term position until 18 December 2026 located in Christchurch.

You will bring:

  • A genuine interest in Human Resources and a desire to further develop your HR knowledge.
  • Strong administration skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Confidence learning and working across multiple systems and digital platforms.
  • Experience providing customer-focused support and resolving queries efficiently.
  • The ability to troubleshoot technical or process-related issues and identify practical solutions.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute positively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Resilience, initiative, and confidence seeking support and sharing knowledge with others.
  • You must hold New Zealand work rights at the time of application.
