The HR Specialist works under the direction of the Manager, Benefits. The position works in collaboration with the HR Specialists-Absence Mgmt. The LOA Payroll Specialist completes the absence tracking function in API for employees on full leaves of absence, intermittent leaves, and modified duty. The position also enters and tracks the “M” codes to ensure employees receive the proper amount of credit towards their retirement eligibility. This position supports clerical functions for the HR Department. They establish work priorities that balance daily required activities and/or requests form the management of the department. They must maintain confidentiality of all work information. The position must be able to work independently while consistently demonstrating the core values of Enloe Health and serves as a role model to other employees.

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:

Minimum

  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • One year office experience utilizing clerical, computer and customer service skills OR Associates or Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communication, HR Manager or related field

Desired

  • Healthcare / hospital experience
  • Leave of absence experience
  • Time and attendance system experience

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:

Must have excellent telephone communication skills and interpersonal skills to maintain a high degree of rapport with managers, co-workers, employees, and the public. Accuracy with 10 key by touch and excellent computer skills & knowledge. Ability to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment. Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Capable of using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook (Microsoft Office Suite) computer skills for a variety of support functions. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential. Behavior should be reflective of Enloe Medical Center Core Values. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
