This positionis responsible fora variety of HRGeneralist functions with an emphasis on employee relationsandworkplace investigationsThis position alsoassistswith performance management and compliance.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • A minimum of two (2) years of currentHRexperiencewith a strong focus onEmployeeRelations, including progressive discipline, performance management,workplace investigations,and coachingin a corporate environment.

  • Working knowledge ofemployment laws, guidelines,and other applicable local,State,andFederal lawswith the ability to apply this knowledge to employee relations decisions

  • Strong experience drafting and reviewing employee relations documentation (disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, investigation summaries) with attention to accuracy, consistency, and legal/compliance considerations.

  • Demonstrated ability to foster positive employee relations and partner with management to drive HR andbusiness initiatives

  • Bachelor’s Degree or currently pursuingdegreein HR Management or current SHRM Certification (PHR, SPHR, or GPHR)

  • Intermediate skills in programs such as MS Word and Outlook.

  • ProficiencyinExcel (must know how to useIFstatements, create complex formulas, performVLOOKUP’s,countifs, conditional formatting, pivot tables,and reports.

  • Must have advancedwritten and verbalcommunication skills both in English and Spanishto communicate atdifferent levelsthroughout the organization and with exterior organizations, candidates, etc.

  • Must have the ability to read and write at an Advanced level in a business environment

  • Possessorganizational and time management skills withabilityto prioritize and bedetail-oriented

  • Possess high energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with normal activities

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision, multitask,andpossessstrong initiative

  • Ability toestablishand maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors,and fellow employees.

  • Ability to think logically,establishand follow procedures, instructions,and make sound decisions

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment within established systems and procedures

  • Ability toworka flexible schedule, extended hours, holidays, and/or weekends as needed

  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC card within30 daysof employment.

Preferred

  • Experience in a high-volume or operational environment managing multiple employee relations cases simultaneously is strongly preferred.

  • Proficiencywith HRIS systems is a plus

  • Prior experience preparing for litigation and dealing with counsel requests

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary

  • Managingthe full lifecycle of employee relations matters, includingissuingand reviewing disciplinary actions, supporting performance evaluations, coaching supervisors on employee performance concerns, and ensuring consistent application of company policies.

  • Perform Investigations related to Discrimination and or Harassment claims (within scope of authority) employee complaints ensuring full compliance with Title VII EEOC guidelines

  • Support employee separations, including preparation of documentation, participation in termination processes, ,and conducting exit interviews.

  • Handle employee complaints and concerns,ensuringtimely, fair, and consistent resolution in alignment with company policies.

  • Conduct workplace investigations related to harassment, discrimination, and policy violations; document findings and provide well-supported recommendations.

  • Assist with HR programs and cross-functional activities, includingbenefitscoordination, workers’ compensation, and recruitment support as needed.

  • Responsible for reviewing disciplinary activity and for tracking employee relations metrics such as turnover, complaints, discipline, etc.

  • Collaborate with HR leadership on sensitive or high-risk employee relations matters, ensuring proper documentation and defensible decision-making.

  • Support compliance initiatives, audits, and policy updates to ensure alignment with local, State, and Federal employment laws.

  • Track and analyze employee relations metrics, including turnover, disciplinary actions, and workplace concerns, andidentifyopportunities for improvement.

  • Stay abreast of changes in applicable employment laws

Secondary

  • Assistin the coordination and execution of company events.

  • Perform other related duties, special projects, and HR initiatives as assigned in support of departmental and organizationalobjectives

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:

Receives direct supervision from the Human ResourcesAssistant Managerandindirectly reports to the Human ResourcesDirectorDoes not exercise supervision over any otherpositionbutmay requestassistancefrom the department’s administrative staff.

CONDITIONS:

Work is performed primarily in atemperature-controlled office environment with moderate noise levels due to routine phone and in-person interactions. The role also requires periodic work outdoors while visiting terminal operations, involving exposure to varying weather conditions such as heat, rain, wind, dust, and industrial fumes.
