Team overview and job responsibilities

We are looking for a Benefits & Compensation Specialist to join our HR team. Based in Costa Rica, the candidate will be responsible for leading and executing locally in partnership with the Regional-team (LATAM) strategic compensation and benefits packages based on thein the company's budget. Will also be responsible for improving employee satisfaction and engagement.

Job responsibilities

  • Understand business strategies and objectives.
  • Application and planning of compensation and benefits packages all aligned with the compensation policies established by the company.
  • Implement and communicate the new recognition system, as well as propose new ways to motivate employees.
  • Communicate updates to the existing compensation and benefits program and ensure the correct implementation at all Central America & Caribbean region.
  • Ensure compensation packages comply with legislative guidelines.
  • Conducting detailed research on wages and labor markets.
  • Development and implementation of compensation and benefits policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the incorporation of new employees and ensure registration in the payroll system of the organization.
  • Align compensation and benefits strategies so that they stay within the organizational budget.
  • Prepare monthly audits and reports and present them to local senior management. Comply with company rules and regulations.
  • Effectively communicate to the organization all information related to benefit programs.
  • Keep job descriptions, job analyses and classifications up-to-date.
  • Leader of the payroll process at the local level, maintaining communication with the supplier and evaluating the needs to update the payroll system in accordance with labor legislation.

Who are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Human Resources Administration, Business Administration, or related career.
  • Proven work experience as a Compensation and Benefits Specialist, or a similar role in the Human Resources department.
  • Solid knowledge of the different types of benefits and compensation programs.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years in the area.
  • Language: Intermediate English (Required)
  • Experience using human resources software (Workday System most preferably) and Microsoft Office tools (Advanced Excel)
  • Experience in collecting quantitative data for analysis (BI knowledge desirable)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge in human capital indicators, Local Labor Law, regulations, Payroll, Training, Compensation and well-being, Organizational design and organizational communication.
