Job Description

Hours per week: 37 hours

Interview date: To be confirmed following shortlisting

At Wiltshire Council, our people are at the heart of everything we do. Our HR service helps managers handle employee relations confidently, fairly and lawfully. We are looking for an experienced Senior HR Advisor to join our Employee Relations team.

This role suits someone who enjoys complexity and takes pride in resolving challenging employee relations matters. You will manage a varied caseload, providing clear, confident and practical HR advice to senior managers and headteachers.

You will work proactively with services to identify and manage risk early, reduce delays and support effective case management and sound decision making. The role covers disciplinary, absence, safeguarding, restructuring and change cases, alongside employment tribunal support and close working with legal colleagues.

As a trusted adviser, you will influence and shape outcomes, explain options and risks clearly, and help deliver positive solutions. You will also support the wider team through mentoring advisers and contributing to policy and practice.

You will bring strong experience of complex employee relations casework, up to date knowledge of employment law, and the confidence to work at pace in a unionised environment.

Why us?

We do not tolerate discrimination, bullying or harassment. Everyone is expected to promote a culture of inclusion, dignity, trust and respect, guided by our vision and Our Identity.
