Human Resources Representative 1, 2 or 3

Location:

East Boulder Mine - McLeod, MT

Schedule:

5x2, 4x3 9hr Shifts

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

At Sibanye-Stillwater, the Human Resource Representative will provide support to all levels of the operation. This position supports administration of Company policies and programs, the collective bargaining agreement, disciplinary actions, grievance procedures, interviewing, employee orientation, training, employee records, administration of employee benefits, and assisting all employees with HR related issues.

  • Communicate and support area goals and initiatives to departments in cooperation with Human Resource team.
  • Foster positive, cooperative relationships with other departments in the Company.
  • Foster an inclusive environment for all employees and candidates that promotes teamwork, innovation, and actively seek feedback from the workforce for continuous improvements.
  • Represents Sibanye-Stillwater's values to all employees and candidates.
  • Adheres to the US PGM Operations HR Code of Ethics.
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment, safe work practices, and a strong safety culture.
  • Partners with departmental managers and hiring teams to define workforce planning strategic objectives.
  • Recognizes the importance of, and develops, strong working relationships within HR and operations leadership.
  • Understands and follows departmental budget requirements.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance management; talent acquisition and workforce planning; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and leadership, including appropriate staff in complex and/or sensitive matters.
  • Develops functional knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and our mining and processing operations
  • Participates and advises operations supervision in employee investigations, disciplinary meetings and terminations.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations as well as company policies and practices.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Builds comprehensive reports of all investigations.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Leadership qualities including character, teamwork, communication, business sense and vision.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring, union contracts, leave, and retirement.
  • Able to successfully communicate with all levels of the workforce, including senior management.
  • roficient with or the ability to quickly learn Applicant Tracking Systems, Human Capital Management Systems, and other employee management software.
  • Handling and maintaining sensitive and confidential information.
  • Responding appropriately and positively to evolving situations and needs.
  • Gathering and analyzing information and making recommendations in support of organizational goals. .
  • Demonstrated proficiency in PC applications (Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Power Point).

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field and/or a minimum of three (3) years of experience in related field such as compensation, benefits, recruiting, payroll, HRIS, performance management, or compliance.
  • Human Resources experience perferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP perferred.
  • Or any acceptable combination of the above.
