The HR Payroll Specialist II is responsible for accurate, timely, and compliant end-to-end payroll processing for a multi-state workforce and multi-EIN. Using a hands-on approach, independent decision making, along with analytical and problem-solving skills, this role owns payroll execution, payroll balancing and reconciliation, garnishments, wage and income verifications, backend benefits administration support, benefits billing reconciliation, and payroll reporting. The HR Payroll Specialist II partners closely with HR to ensure payroll accuracy but does not approve HR transactions or own system configuration. It is critical for this role to have extensive knowledge of payroll functions to include, but not limited to, payroll computations, wage garnishments, reporting, benefits administration, and general understanding of federal and state employment laws. This remote role reports to the Director of Payroll and HRIS. The role has regular and frequent interaction with employees, practice leadership, Finance, and the management team.

Payroll Functions:
· Execute end-to-end payroll processing for regular and off-cycle payrolls
· Review and validate payroll inputs, earnings, deductions, timecards, and taxes
· Balance payrolls for all EINs prior to release, ensuring accuracy of gross-to-net calculations
· Prepare and distribute payroll registers for review and approval
· Release payroll following documented independent approval
· Perform post-payroll reconciliations, including funding and general ledger reconciliation
· Investigate, resolve, and document payroll variances and discrepancies
· Process payroll corrections, off cycle payrolls, retroactive adjustments, and instant checks as needed
· Maintain payroll reconciliation documentation and audit trails

Knowledge and Skills:
· Minimum of 3 – 5 years of multi-state payroll processing experience (California experience strongly preferred) including reporting, balancing, and reconciliation.
· UKG Pro and WFM experience are strongly preferred.
· Experience administering garnishments and wage attachments
· Experience with backend benefits administration, benefit file creation, and billing reconciliation
· Demonstrated strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations
· High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Proficient in Microsoft office, especially Excel using pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a remote full-time position, we are looking for candidate in CA, NV, WA, OR AZ. Generally, days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PT. However, flexibility is needed to support other time zones. Approximately 10% travel is required.
