Job Description

Bank of Jordan is seeking an experienced HR professional to lead and oversee Human Resources operations, ensuring efficient service delivery, compliance with regulations, and alignment with the Bank’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define objectives for subordinate units and departments in coordination with their teams; ensure efficient and accurate workflow execution; supervise performance, conduct evaluations, and manage leave schedules to ensure business continuity.
  • Lead the development of strategic objectives, overall plans, and policies for the function; propose improvements to organizational structures and departmental frameworks.
  • Ensure communication and proper implementation of approved plans, programs, and policies across relevant stakeholders.
  • Translate overarching goals into actionable sub-goals and tasks; assign them to team members, provide necessary support, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Develop team capabilities by assessing the work environment, identifying challenges, proposing solutions, and escalating recommendations to management.
  • Enhance information systems, promote the use of technology, support knowledge management initiatives, and ensure knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Manage employee relations, ensure compliance with labor laws, and represent the bank in employee-related legal cases to protect its interests.
  • Participate in reviewing and updating health insurance policies; conduct studies to ensure effectiveness and alignment with organizational needs.
  • Monitor proper utilization of medical benefits by employees and their families in coordination with insurance providers.
  • Oversee the financial system related to employee expenses; classify, analyze, and recommend improvements; submit proposals for approval and implementation.
  • Supervise social security records and processes to safeguard employee rights.
  • Verify the accuracy of accounting entries related to employee expenses prior to disbursement.
  • Oversee recruitment processes, finalize hiring procedures, prepare employment contracts in compliance with laws, and ensure proper approvals.
  • Contribute to reviewing and updating HR policies and procedures in line with best practices.
  • Review and approve transactions within authority limits, ensuring accuracy of documentation and system entries.
  • Supervise responses to employee and internal inquiries related to personnel affairs.
  • Review internal and external audit reports; ensure proper resolution of findings to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure preparation and timely submission of periodic reports and statements.
  • Review operational and control reports and take necessary actions to maintain effective oversight.
  • Act as a primary/alternate member in business continuity and emergency response teams, ensuring minimal disruption and quick recovery of operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, or a related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Human Resources operations
  • Professional certification (e.g., SHRM, CIPD, or equivalent) is preferred
  • Proficiency in English (reading and writing)
  • Strong knowledge of HR systems, policies, and procedures
  • Solid understanding of Jordanian labor law and its applications
  • Familiarity with internal and external regulatory frameworks
  • Proficiency in computer systems and HR platforms
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and analytical abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
