Pembina Pipeline Corporation is actively hiring a Director, HR Operations & Total Rewards to join the Human Resources team. Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources within the Human Resources Services Unit (HSU), part of Pembina’s Legal, People and Corporate Services Division.

As a key member of the HSU Senior Leadership team, the Director will lead the evolution of HR Operations and Total Rewards, ensuring efficient, high-quality service delivery while shaping programs that support business objectives. The Director also plays a critical role in strengthening core HR capabilities across the organization, advancing scalable processes, enabling data-driven insights, and elevating the quality and consistency of program delivery.

The Human Services Unit (HSU) acts to create a differentiated experience for our employees so that we can deliver extraordinary energy solutions so the world can thrive. Functional areas within HSU include Strategic Partnering, Operations & Total Rewards and Leadership, Talent and Learning.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Provide strategic oversight of payroll, HR systems, total rewards, and HR data and reporting, advancing transformation, automation, and operational excellence to enable a scalable, modern HR function;
  • Steward the HR Committee (Board) agenda and end-to-end development of materials, working closely with executive leadership and HSU stakeholders to curate and integrate People & Culture content from across the function, ensuring clear, accurate, and strategic materials that enable effective oversight, informed decision-making, and alignment with governance and People Strategy priorities;
  • Lead the people workstream for mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, managing the end-to-end integration of employees, culture, and HR programs—working closely with executive leadership and collaborating across HSU functions to enable seamless transitions, maintain business continuity, and realize the intended value of the transaction;
  • Develop and lead a high-performing HR Operations and Total Rewards team, role modelling inclusive leadership, accountability, and a strong learner mindset;
  • Advance equity, diversity, and inclusion by embedding inclusive practices across hiring, talent development, decision-making, and day-to-day leadership;
  • Enable alignment and integration across HR Operations, Centres of Excellence (COEs), and HR Strategic Partners to deliver consistent, enterprise-wide impact;
  • Oversee total rewards programs (compensation, benefits, and pension) and support labour relations and compliance to ensure alignment with business and regulatory requirements;
  • Manage and optimize HR information systems while advancing HR automation, data, analytics, and reporting capabilities to enable insight-driven decision-making;
  • Establish and monitor KPIs and service performance metrics to drive performance and continuous improvement; and
  • Champion Pembina’s Zero by Choice safety culture and Life Saving Rules by embedding physical, psychological, and cyber safety into all HR practices. Ensure compliance and audit readiness while empowering employees to speak up, remain vigilant to risks, and actively protect our people, assets, and data.

Qualifications:

  • Progressive year of experience as a visionary HR leader with a track record of leading multi-functional operations, delivering against service performance metrics, and building strong partnerships aligned to business outcomes;
  • Subject matter expertise in core HR operations, including payroll, benefits, and compensation, ideally across Canada and the U.S.;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through transformation, implementing new ways of working while building organizational capability and resilience;
  • Embodies Pembina leadership capabilities: models safety, enables results, develops people, champions inclusion, demonstrates learning agility, and leads through change;
  • Strong business acumen with expertise in continuous improvement, process optimization, and delivering efficient, high-quality HR services;
  • Data-driven leader with a proven ability to use metrics and insights to inform decisions, improve performance, and drive accountability;
  • Effective communicator who engages and influences at all levels, fostering trust, clarity, and alignment across the organization;
  • Builds strong, collaborative relationships and inspires high-performing teams through inclusive leadership, psychological safety, and positive influence;
  • Champions equity, diversity, and inclusion through forward-thinking practices embedded in leadership, talent strategies, and workplace culture;
  • Skilled in managing complex priorities and leading cross-functional initiatives with strong project management discipline and execution focus; and
  • Experience with HR systems such as SuccessFactors and ServiceNow considered an asset.

Pembina’s Flexible Work Standard provides the option for eligible employees to work remotely on Fridays.

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. The final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
