Job Description

We are looking for an HR professional to join our team for 1 year as fixed-term HR Manager to cover for our current HRM during parental leave.

As HRM for Huawei Finland Research Center, you will be responsible for all HR operations except for recruitment and lead the HR team working on employment life cycle related processes, internal communications, contractor management and expat management. Additionally, you will act as the Occupational Safety and Health Manager for the Research Center. You will report to the HRD and work closely with the Research Center President, business teams and Line Managers, ensuring local compliance and smooth running of HR matters. You will also collaborate with other departments, such as legal, procurement and quality and operations both locally and globally and handle all HR related external partner liaison.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

- Leading and supporting HR team in daily HR operations, including payroll, working time and absence management, contractor management, expat management, internal communication, climate building and internal events and activities organizing

- Business and management support in all HR related matters

- Staff relations and staff enquiries handling, staff grievance and issue handling

- Ensuring local compliance across HR operations and maintaining continuous dialogue with the employee representatives in accordance with the new co-operation act

- Workplace safety and staff well-being in the role of Occupational Safety and Health Manager and as a member of occupational health and safety working group

- Active collaboration with occupational health care and regular liaison with insurance and pension insurance companies

- Staff and workplace development through e.g. expert and manager coaching, annual staff surveys, research center level as well as team specific improvement initiatives and internal trainings

- HR related policy and guideline creation and updates, updating and creating training modules as needed

- HR related audits and reporting, as well as other occasional projects and HR related tasks

Attributes needed to succeed in the role:

- Ability to adjust to changing situations, take responsibility, handle big entities and work smoothly with different stakeholders

- Solution-oriented and proactive working methods with care for details but focus on the big picture

- Sense of ownership over HR areas with confidence to coach managers and staff

- Motivation for working in a truly multicultural working environment

Requirements:

- Relevant educational background and minimum 5 years of working in HR domain

- Several years of experience from HR tasks corresponding to the list above, preferably in manager level role

- Strong understanding of and experience from applying Finnish labor laws and collective agreements (especially TIPAL) in daily work

- Excellent interpersonal skills, especially in written and spoken English. Finnish or Chinese language skills are considered as beneficial

- Previous managerial or supervisory experience is considered as beneficial, as well as experience from working in multicultural environments and/or large-scale organizations

Location&Contract type

This is a 1-year consultant position at our R&D office in Ruoholahti, Helsinki, Finland. Occasional travel to our second R&D office in Tampere is also expected. The consultant shall be employed by Huawei's supplier.
