Job Description

Sumitomo Electric Interconnect Products, Inc. (SEIP) is seeking an HR Manager. The HR Manager leads and manages human resources operations for the manufacturing site in San Marcos, CA. This role partners with leadership and employees to support employee relations, recruiting, compliance, training, and organizational effectiveness while ensuring alignment with company policies, employment laws, and corporate HR standards. The position reports to the President.Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary HR leader and business partner for the manufacturing site
  • Provide day-to-day HR guidance and support to managers and employees on employee relations, performance management, discipline, coaching, and conflict resolution
  • Lead or oversee employee investigations and ensure fair, consistent, and compliant outcomes
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for exempt and non-exempt roles, including workforce planning, interviewing, offers, onboarding, and new employee orientation
  • Oversee HR processes related to employee lifecycle changes such as promotions, transfers, leave of absence, and terminations
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state (California), and local employment laws, including wage and hour, leave laws, discrimination, and workplace practices
  • Serve as site compliance resource and represent HR in interactions related to employee claims, audits, or employment-related agency matters, as needed
  • Partner with leadership on talent development, succession planning, training, and employee engagement initiatives
  • Coordinate and oversee compliance and required training programs, including safety, harassment prevention, and corporate-required training
  • Support workers’ compensation and workplace injury management in partnership with safety, finance, and external vendors
  • Maintain accurate employee records, HR documentation, and organizational charts
  • Collaborate with payroll providers and finance to ensure accurate employee data; payroll processing is not performed in this role
  • Utilize HR systems and reporting tools; familiarity with ADP Vantage is a plus
  • Support updates and communication related to HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook
  • Manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining confidentiality and attention to detail
  • Participate in cross-functional and corporate HR initiatives and special projects as assigned
 Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong background in employee relations, recruiting, and compliance
  • Working knowledge of California employment laws and HR best practices
  • Experience supporting training, employee development, and workplace safety initiatives
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems; ADP Vantage experience is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity
 The base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $130,000 annually. Compensation may vary depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, competencies and location. Base pay is one part of the total compensation and benefits package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives.  About Sumitomo Electric Interconnect Products, Inc. Sumitomo Electric Interconnect Products, Inc.
