We are looking for an experienced HR Manager to join our successful team in Donbate, North Dublin on a 1 2 month fixed term contract.
We are looking for a resilient and confident HR Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Irish employment law and be comfortable applying their expertise to support the business while ensuring compliance and best practice. You will be confident in your knowledge and decision-making, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and challenge constructively to drive the right business outcomes. This role requires someone who can balance competing demands, remain calm under pressure, and build strong relationships while using effective influencing skills to gain buy-in, navigate complex situations, and deliver positive change.
As a key member of the Portakabin Ireland leadership team, you will operate in a true standalone HR Generalist role, reporting into the UK based HR function. You will provide comprehensive HR support across all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including employee relations, employee engagement, learning and development, talent management, and reward. Working closely with managers and employees, you will help drive people initiatives, ensure compliance with employment legislation, and contribute to creating a positive and high-performing workplace culture.
As the HR Manager you will support the delivery and implementation of the wider HR strategy, playing a key part in the continued growth and success of the Portakabin Ireland business.
Role Details:
• Annual Salary – Up to €80,000 depending on experience
• Role based: – Portakabin (Ireland) Ltd, Roseville Business Park, Turvey Avenue, Donabate, Co. Dublin, K36 K759
• Contract type: 12 Months Fixed Term Contract (Must be local)
• Eligible for Private Medical Scheme
• Annual leave of 25 days per annum plus bank holidays and opportunity to buy an additional 5 days each year.
In this role you will be required to:
• Support the implementation of people priorities from the company strategy within business unit.
• Integrate people activities within our Career Framework and actively champion its use with leaders and employees.
• Support Ireland’s senior leadership team providing people insight, advice and guidance that enables performance.
• Ensure effective plans are in place for resourcing, succession of critical roles, performance management and employee engagement.
• Support leaders and managers to strengthen their leadership impact and improve employee engagement.
• Promote learning, development and career growth initiatives aligned to the Career Framework.
• Maintain effective relationships across the HR team, collaborating with colleagues to deliver consistent, joined-up solutions.
• Ensure HR queries are directed to the appropriate HR team or specialist area, so issues are resolved and teams have the information they need to support.
• Provide expert advice and support on complex or high-risk ER cases ensuring risks are well understood and managed, demonstrating strong knowledge and application of Irish employment legislation.
Our Ideal Candidate
• Key skills: Resilient, strong knowledge of Irish employment law, capable of managing multiple priorities, confidently influencing and constructively challenging stakeholders.
•Confident in your own knowledge
•CIPD qualification (level 5) or equivalent relevant experience operating at HR Manager level.
• Strong knowledge of HR practices and employment law, with the ability to apply them in a unionised context.
•Strong knowledge and ability to apply Ireland’s employment laws as appropriate
• Experience of providing HR advice and guidance to senior leaders.
• Takes initiative, acts with confidence, and works under own direction.
• Confidence to challenge senior stakeholders.
• Strong relationship-building, communication and influencing skills.
• Able to role model behaviours and champion the wider HR team
• Experience of coaching and supporting managers.
