Job Description
As HR Manager, you will act as the primary HR point of contact in Italy, ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of day-to-day HR services.
This includes overseeing payroll operations, ensuring compliance with local social legislation, and managing constructive dialogue with employee representatives and unions.
In this role, you will drive the local implementation of global HR programs while supporting operational business needs You will partner closely with managers and employees across Italy, providing hands-on HR guidance and ensuring a consistent and high-quality employee experience.
Reporting to the Lead HR Business Partner for Global Operations, you will play a key role in translating HR strategy into impactful local execution, contributing to both business performance and employee engagement
Main Accountabilities
- Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of all local payroll activities and related processes, fully compliant with Italian labour and social legislation.
- Provide dedicated HR support and guidance to the local management team, addressing people-related needs and driving the effective execution of HR actions.
- Lead local internal communication efforts, ensuring effective cascading of global and local messages, and supporting employer and employee branding initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with the Lead HR Business Partner (Operations & Healthcare) to align on HR priorities, strategies, and key initiatives.
- Oversee and continuously improve HR processes throughout the employee lifecycle, while coaching people leaders and key talents on topics such as performance, development, and career growth.
- Act as the primary point of contact for local unions and external stakeholders (e.g. trade unions, Confindustria), fostering constructive and compliant industrial relations.
- Monitor and actively support employee engagement initiatives, ensuring timely follow-up on feedback and action plans.
- Partner with HR Centres of Expertise to co-create and implement innovative HR solutions and effectively deploy global HR programs in Italy.
- Monitor and stimulate organizational performance through data-driven insights and targeted HR interventions.
Education
- Master’s degree in human resources, Social Sciences, Business Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant qualifications and experience
Experience
- Proven experience in an HR support role within an international and matrixed environment, with a solid track record in operational HR management.
- Demonstrated hands-on expertise in delivering core HR services, including payroll coordination, employee relations, and compliance with local labour legislation.
- Experience supporting business leaders and employees across different functions, translating business needs into effective HR actions and solutions.
- Familiarity with working in a complex stakeholder landscape, with the ability to balance global HR frameworks and local requirements.
- Track record of contributing to or implementing HR initiatives and processes, ensuring high-quality execution and continuous improvement.
Competencies
- Proven expertise in payroll processes and Italian labour law, complemented by experience in at least two additional HR domains (e.g. staffing, HRIS, training & development, organizational development, HR business partnering)
- Fluent in Italian and English, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate effectively across different audiences and organizational levels
- Acts with integrity, strong ethical standards, and a results-driven mindset
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize
