Human Resources- Manager
General
Position Summary:
Assists Director in the daily oversight of the HR department and its personnel. Actively participates in all areas of employment process such as hiring, evaluations, education, training, health & safety, wages & salary surveys, benefits, office administration and labor relations.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
- Coordinates benefit program changes with individual providers per the direction of the HR Director
- Responsible for responding to all Employment Security Department claims and attends hearings as necessary
- Assists in forecasting staffing needs as necessary
- Assists in screening applications and verifying references
- Assists in designing and facilitating evaluation systems
- Serves as a back-up trainer in the absence of the trainer
- Maintains compliance records at the request of the CEO/GM and HR Director in compliance with the Tribal/State compact and the Suquamish Gaming Ordinance Title II
- Assists in developing and maintaining job descriptions in conjunction with the Recruiter
- In the absence of the Director, serves as his/her representative to management/coaches meetings
Secondary Functions:
- Responds to employment verifications (both in writing and over the telephone)
- Processes employee accident reports to insurance carrier and insures that all regulatory logs are completed for compliance purposes
- Assists in the training of the department’s support staff
- Assists the Director in performing periodic audits of all programs related to personnel and programs
- HR representative for attending, taking minutes of all disciplines as necessary, terminations and mediations at the request of the HR Director
- Other duties as deemed necessary
Specific Job Skills:
- Proficient in MS Office
- Experienced in Paycom Payroll and HRIS software
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong supervisory, problem solving and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication skills; verbal and written
- Ability to work with a variety of people
QualificationsEducation and/or
Experience:
High School diploma or GED required. BS or BA degree in personnel, business administration or public administration desired. Minimum two (2) years personnel supervisory or management experience desired. Human Resources certification preferred Two – Five years HR Generalist experience may be substituted for the HR certification.
Job Conditions:
Working conditions include working in an office setting with a computer, telephone, fax and copier. Hours may vary including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
Manual and finger dexterity for operation of personal computer and routine paperwork. Ability to handle stress and time constraints. Ability to lift up to 25lbs.
