Your role & work environment

At ING, we believe that people are at the heart of our success. As an HR Legal & Social Relations Expert, you will play a key role in shaping and supporting our social and legal HR framework.

You will join the HR Legal & Social Relations Team, a dedicated centre of expertise within Human Resources. The team is responsible for the application of social and labour law policies, both at collective and individual level, and supports all ING business units, management teams, HR colleagues and social partners.

In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor, helping ING navigate complex social and legal matters while fostering a constructive and sustainable social dialogue.

Your key responsibilities

As an HR Legal & Social Relations Expert, you will:

  • Monitor developments in labour and social law and assess their impact on ING.
  • Provide expert advice and practical guidance to management and stakeholders on complex social-legal matters.
  • Represent ING Belgium in legal proceedings, both internally and externally.
  • Support and lead discussions and negotiations with employee representatives and social partners.
  • Build and maintain constructive relationships with social partners.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR legal policies and practices.
  • Balance legal requirements with business objectives and strategic priorities.

You have:

  • A Master's degree in Law, ideally complemented by a specialization in Social Law.
  • Strong knowledge of Belgian labour and social legislation.
  • Knowledge of GDPR and its application within an HR environment.
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, gained within a company, consultancy or law firm specialized in employment law.
  • Experience in social dialogue and negotiations with employee representatives or social partners.
  • Proven experience dealing with complex legal cases and stakeholder management.

In addition, you:

  • Are able to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.
  • Communicate fluently in Dutch, French and English, both written and spoken.
  • Combine strong analytical skills with a pragmatic, business-oriented mindset.
  • Are resilient, solution-oriented and comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
  • Enjoy teamwork and building strong professional relationships.
