Y Queenslandare recruiting a HR Lead and Project Manager (Payroll System Replacement) on a Fixed-Term, Full-Time basis to join our team based in Fortitude Valley.

As the HR Lead and Project Manager (Payroll System Replacement) on a Fixed-Term, Full-Time basis to join our team based in Fortitude Valley. you will manage end-to-end project accountability with functional leadership across payroll and HR systems. The position leads system selection, design, configuration, testing, and transition to operations, and is accountable for payroll business rules, legislative compliance, and system integrity across payroll, time and attendance, and the broader HR ecosystem

What will my time look like?

Project Management

  • Accountable for delivery of project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Coordinate all project activities across stakeholders, vendors, and systems.

HR / Payroll Functional Leadership

  • Responsible for payroll business rules, compliance, and payroll accuracy
  • Lead go-to-market activities to identify, assess, and select payroll systems.

Business Process & System Design

  • Explore system functionality, including AI capabilities, for workflow management, assurance, and reporting
  • Lead business process design and validation

Testing, Assurance & Delivery

  • Lead payroll testing, including parallel runs
  • Ensure payroll assurance and validation of outcomes

Change, Readiness & Transition

  • Support user readiness, training, and adoption.
  • Manage transition from project delivery to business-as-usual operations

Am I a good match?

  • Demonstrated experience leading payroll system implementation projects end-to-end.
  • Deep knowledge of payroll operations, legislation, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience defining payroll business rules, awards, and entitlements.
  • Experience across payroll, time and attendance, and HRIS integrations.
  • Strong project management capability with accountability for delivery outcomes.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage system selection and vendor engagement.
  • High attention to detail with a focus on payroll accuracy and risk management.
  • National Police Check or completed within 6 months, willingness to obtain

Desirable:

  • Experience with SuccessFactors, Humanforce, or similar systems.
  • Experience in payroll transformation or system replacement programs.
  • Understanding of AI-enabled payroll/HR system capabilities.
  • Formal qualifications in Human Resources, Business, or related discipline.
