Are you studying Human Resources, Business or Administration and looking for your first step into the HR world?

We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join our People & Culture team as an HR Intern. This is a 6-month, part-time position working 48 hours per fortnight from our Strathpine Head Office.

This is your chance to gain real, hands-on experience in recruitment and People & Culture while making a difference in the lives of people with disability. About the role:

At SEQUAL, we believe in developing people. As the HR Intern, you will report to the HR Manager, working alongside an experienced team who will provide support and mentoring as you build practical skills that can't be learnt in a classroom. You'll be involved in a variety of recruitment and HR administration tasks, including:

  • Reviewing job applications and preparing candidates for the next stage of recruitment.
  • Conducting phone screening interviews.
  • Scheduling interviews and communicating with candidates.
  • Assisting with onboarding administration and compliance documentation.
  • Maintaining accurate recruitment records using our Applicant Tracking System.
  • Supporting the People & Culture team with day-to-day administration.

You'll receive on the job training, clear processes, and ongoing support every step of the way.

About you:

We're looking for someone who is eager to learn and ideally is:

  • Currently studying Human Resources, Business, Administration or a related qualification.
  • Organised, reliable and able to manage your time.
  • Highly adaptable and able to work in a fast pace environment.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Confident communicating by phone and email.
  • Passionate about helping people and providing great customer service.

Detail-oriented and willing to follow established processes Please note, it is a requirement of this position that you have the rights to work in Australia and hold a current NDIS Worker Screening Check & Working With Children Check (or are able to obtain).

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
