Working in a challenging, high volume, fast-paced environment, the HR Generalist Student will work closely with the HR Business Advisors (HRBA’s), HR Analysts and Business Units to provide support to the Client Services team. Our company culture fosters a fun working environment, development of meaningful relationships and continuous learning. Building on classroom studies, you will develop and enhance your skills while working with mentors to kick-start a successful career in Human Resources.

  • Job location: Fort McMurray, AB – Oil Sands Site
  • Shift schedule: 4 days on, 3 days off, 10 hours/day (Monday – Thursday)
  • Term lengths: 8 months or 12 months
  • Term start: January 2027
  • Safety sensitive position: Yes

Key Accountabilities:

  • Create and process complete and accurate Assignment Change Form (ACF) packages, including resignations, transfers, progressions, leaves of absence, general employee changes etc.
  • Create and complete routine HR forms and letters
  • Complete people and position data audits within HR Central
  • Coordinate and complete projects on behalf of the HRBA’s/department
  • Assist in the roll out of HR Company initiatives
  • Complete ad-hoc reporting as required

What You Bring to The Role:

  • Currently enrolled in your 3rd or 4th year of a degree or diploma program in Human Resources
  • Respect for confidentiality and discretion
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Energetic, positive attitude and optimistic outlook
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and proficient proofreading skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
