Job Summary

The HR Generalist provides full-scope HR Business Partner support for a large and diverse employee population, typically 350–600 employees or 25–40 supervisors/managers. This role independently manages higher volume, complexity, and risk across employee relations, HR program execution, labor compliance, and workforce support. The Senior HR Generalist partners closely with supervisors, managers, and functional or site leaders to deliver effective and consistent HR solutions that support business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide end-to-end HR Business Partner support for a large employee population, covering employee relations, HR programs, labor compliance, workforce planning inputs, and employee experience.
  • Serve as a trusted HR partner to supervisors, managers, and functional leaders, providing guidance on HR policies, workforce issues, and people management decisions.
  • Independently manage complex and high-volume employee relations cases, including investigations, documentation, and resolution recommendations, ensuring compliance with labor laws, company policy, and risk management standards.
  • Execute core HR processes at scale, including hiring and onboarding support, performance management cycles, corrective action, employee engagement initiatives, and employee separation processes.
  • Partner with leaders to anticipate workforce challenges, support organizational or operational changes, and ensure continuity in a manufacturing or operational environment.
  • Ensure consistent application of labor laws, regulatory requirements, and internal policies; support audits, inspections, and regulatory inquiries as required.
  • Maintain accurate and timely HR data and documentation in HR systems; analyze workforce metrics and trends to inform leadership decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with HR Centers of Expertise (e.g., Compensation, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development) to deliver HR programs effectively and consistently across the assigned population.
  • Provide informal coaching and knowledge-sharing to less experienced HR team members as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Approximately 5–8 years of progressive HR experience supporting large and diverse employee populations.
  • Strong working knowledge of labor law, employee relations case management, and HR compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage high volume, competing priorities, and multiple leaders with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated capability to handle complex employee relations matters with sound judgment and professionalism.
  • Strong consultative, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in HR systems, reporting, and workforce data analysis.
  • HR certification (e.g., CHRP, SHRM, or equivalent) preferred.
