Strata is seeking an HR Generalist to support a fast-growing and dynamic organization. This role provides foundational support across HR operations, including benefits and leave administration, HR processes, HRIS management, department support, and reporting. The successful candidate brings strong organization, initiative, and problem-solving skills, and is comfortable balancing hands-on execution with process improvement in a fast-paced environment. Position is full-time, in-office at our Durham NC headquarters.
Benefits and Leave Administration
• Own end-to-end administration of employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and ancillary benefits
• Serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for all benefits inquiries and issue resolution
• Lead enrollments, life events, audits, and compliance activities in coordination with brokers and vendors
• Fully administer and track employee leave programs, including FMLA, ADA, multi-state leave laws, and company policies
• Lead benefits renewals and annual open enrollment planning and execution
• Manage vendor relationships and recommend improvements to benefits programs and processes
• Ensure highly accurate documentation, reporting, and full compliance with federal and state regulations
HR Systems and Operations (Developmental Responsibility)
• Support HR systems and reporting processes, with the opportunity to grow into a power user role over time (UKG preferred)
• Assist in generating and validating HR reports to support business and compliance needs Partner with HR leadership to learn system capabilities and contribute to process improvements Build proficiency in HR systems, workflows, and data integrity practices
• Over time, take on increased ownership of reporting, system optimization, and process efficiency initiatives
Core HR Generalist Functions (Developmental Responsibility)
• Provide operational and administrative support to HR Business Partners and HR leadership
• Maintain employee records and ensure HRIS data integrity
• Support development and documentation of HR policies and processes Assist with compliance audits and regulatory reporting
• Primary back-up for the HR Coordinator and Front Desk Coordinator
Qualifications
• 3–5 years of HR, operations, or related experience
• Exposure to benefits, HR systems, or reporting preferred
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• High level of professionalism and discretion
• Strong communication skills
• Highly computer savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Bachelor’s degree
