
The Department of State Police Human Resources Unit is seeking a well-rounded Human Resources Generalist who will provide administrative support to all sections within the Unit.This will include the Employment Services, Benefits, Leaves, Records, Classification, and Occupational Health Units.
Duties of this position include but are not limited to:
1. Maintaining employee and position information in the internal HR database systems.
2. Monitor various shared mailboxes across the Human Resources unit to include review of e-mails, logging requests, and distribution as required.
3. Conduct research of personnel histories, tracking service dates, assignments, and providing employee information as requested.
4. Prepare informational packages for the various Human Resources Units.
5. Assist with activities related to the Commonwealth's MassCareers (Taleo) system, to include review of open tasks, monitoring and ensuing all tasks are finalized.
6. Assist with screening employment applications and resumes, back-up for interviewing candidates for hire, coordinating pre-employment screenings, preparing hiring proposals and related paperwork.
7. Assist with benefits open enrollment, orientations, and other related tasks.
8. Represent the Benefits Unit by providing resources and tools to agency personnel about Group Insurance Commission (GIC) and Massachusetts State Retirement Board (MSRB) benefits to assist with employee's enrollment, update and process employee's benefit elections and beneficiary selections.
9. Participate in, and conduct retirement informational meetings, assisting with questions and coordinating retirement paperwork required.
10. Coordinating employee leave of absence (FMLA, PFML, EILB), tracking employee's leave and reporting.
11. Central leave liaison between Leave Unit and Office of Leave Planning Assistance (OLPA).
12. Regularly create and maintain the Department's organizational charts for each Division.
13. Assist with uniform promotional exams and additional appointment activities for the Agency.
14. Provide general office support by fielding and routing incoming calls, in-office visitors, mail and email correspondence and requests, conducting research, and scheduling and attending meetings as needed.
15. Other HR duties as assigned.
