Job Description

Koch Finishing Systems operates from five locations — domestic and international — designing and building technical, automated finishing equipment. We’re looking for a hands-on HR Generalist to support our skilled manufacturing and engineering teams by managing payroll, full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, and HR programs while helping develop technical talent across multiple sites.
What you’ll do (core responsibilities)
• Run full-cycle recruiting: post roles, screen, coordinate interviews, check references, and administer offers.
• Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll: entries, reconciliations, and employee inquiries.
• Manage new-hire processing: offer letters, I-9s, background checks (FCRA), benefits enrollment, and orientation.
• Maintain electronic and physical personnel files; enforce record-retention standards.
• Administer benefits, PTO, FMLA intake/tracking, ADA accommodations, and other leave.
• Track and document training and safety records.
• Support investigations, disciplinary actions, performance management, and employee relations; escalate complex matters.
• Produce key HR reports: headcount, turnover, time-to-fill, and payroll reconciliations.
• Respond to routine employment inquiries; route legal or union matters to HR Manager.
You bring
• 2+ years HR/payroll experience (manufacturing preferred).
• Hands-on payroll and HRIS experience.
• Working knowledge of I-9, FMLA, ADA basics, and FCRA for background checks.
• Strong organization, discretion with confidential info, and clear communication.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and common HR systems.
Nice to have
• Bachelor’s in HR/Business (or equivalent experience).
• HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) or working toward one.
• Multi-state payroll experience.
Why Koch?
• Competitive pay and benefits, paid time off, and 401(k).
• Development-focused culture — we support training and certification growth.
• Hands-on role with visibility to leaders and real impact on team member experience.
• Safety-first, continuous improvement mindset.
