Shifts Available and Hours:

Onsite position
Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM

The Human Resources Generalist will support a variety of HR and HSE activities at our Mississauga location, including recruitment, training, performance management, employee relations, payroll assistance, benefits administration, and other administrative tasks within a unionized manufacturing environment. The Human Resources Generalist reports directly to the Human Resources Manager.

What will make you successful?

Required Education/Experience:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Human Resources Generalist in a unionized, safety-focused manufacturing environment
• University degree or college diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
• Strong communication skills in English (spoken and written)

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

• CHRP designation (an asset)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of ESA, Human Rights, and Collective Agreements
• Committed to Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with payroll and HRIS systems
• Organized, collaborative, and a team player
• Willingness to occasionally work off-shifts when required

What you will be doing:

• Support end-to-end recruitment and onboarding, including preparing job postings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and orienting new hires
• Administer weekly and biweekly payroll, benefits, and accurate HRIS data entry for all employees
• Provide day-to-day HR support to employees and management on employee relations issues, policy interpretation, and Collective Agreement application
• Assist with performance appraisals, HR investigations, and third-party disability management, including follow-ups
• Maintain confidential HR records, assist with corporate events, and perform other administrative duties as required

Human Resources:

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE):

• Identify and correct unsafe conditions, immediately escalating serious safety issues to management and implementing effective solutions
• Conduct and support accident/incident investigations, WSIB claims administration, and Return to Work meetings
• Support implementation and communication of company-wide safety programs, policies, and procedures
• Maintain safety and environmental records, including training documentation, evacuation plans, and incident reports
• Administer required training programs in compliance with legal requirements, environmental regulations, and company standards
• Track and analyze safety performance metrics to measure program effectiveness and support continuous improvement initiatives
