Job Location: White River Junction, VT 05001
Position Type: Full Time
Salary Range: $20.85 - $31.27 Hourly

The People & Culture Generalist is responsible for providing HR support to Co-op employees across various business units. Responsibilities will include leave administration, recruiting, new hire paperwork at orientation, assisting with on-boarding of new employees, and setting up new employees in HRIS.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: (not an all inclusive list)
- Manage employment application system/process
- Work with hiring managers and HR staff complete the hiring process
- Place job postings/advertising
- Perform pre-screen interviews
- Complete background checks and employment verifications as applicable
- Complete new hire paperwork in compliance with employment regulations
- Prepare and present job offer letters to potential hires
- Enter new hire data into the HRIS, ensuring accuracy
- Act as HR liaison to the JLMC
- Complete termination paperwork and HRIS entries
- Perform exit interviews; collate and distribute results
- Support employees who go out on medical leave with FMLA, ADA and/or STD
- Track leaves of absence
- Calculate department specific metrics
- Act as backup for payroll
- Act as a backup for benefits presentation at orientation
- Act as a backup for orientation
- Order office supplies for all locations, and other supplies as requested
- Sort and distribute mail for all locations

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- 1 year of progressive Human Resources experience
- Recruiting experience strongly preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong understanding of the need for tact, discretion, and confidentiality in communication
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to be effective at all organizational levels
- Able to quickly establish credibility
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Flexible, supportive, and adaptive to changes
- Good understanding of software systems/processes
- Working knowledge of Employment Law, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, COBRA, OSHA, Workman’s Compensation and other aspects of employment
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent follow through
