We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized HR Coordinator to support the on-boarding and pre-employment process for new hires across the company. This role is responsible for coordinating pre-employment requirements, onboarding documentation, new hire communication, and maintaining accurate employee records while delivering a professional and welcoming candidate experience.

The ideal candidate is dependable, confidential, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all pre-employment activities
  • Prepare and distribute offer letters and onboarding documentation
  • Schedule and facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation
  • Ensure completion and accuracy of all onboarding paperwork, including I-9 documentation and E-Verify processing
  • Maintain employee personnel files and HR records in compliance with company policy and legal requirements
  • Communicate with applicants, hiring managers, and store leadership regarding onboarding status and hiring updates
  • Assist with recruiting coordination, interview scheduling, and applicant tracking
  • Monitor onboarding progress to ensure timely completion before start dates
  • Support HR projects and administrative tasks as assigned
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and company information

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Previous administrative, HR, recruiting, or onboarding experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Experience with HRIS or applicant tracking systems is a plus

In 1979, Colony purchased a small oil company in Roper, NC and became a Farm Bureau tire dealer there. We began selling Goodyear tires in 1980. Today, Colony Tire is a 100% Employee-owned company and one of the leading tire distributors in North America. Nearly 1,000 associates operate 225 vehicles and 35 locations in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee.
