  1. BASIC PURPOSE

The HR Compliance Coordinator II provides advanced-level technical and operational support for the Divisional Human Resources Department. This position requires a deeper level of HR knowledge and autonomy than the HR Coordinator, with expanded responsibility for compliance monitoring, HRIS administration, employee relations documentation, onboarding oversight, and division-wide HR project coordination.

The HR Specialist serves as a subject matter expert in at least one core HR functional area (HRIS, compliance, onboarding, investigations support, training administration) and acts as a resource to Corps, programs, and DHQ departments. This position performs complex HR transactions, audits, and case coordination requiring strong judgment, confidentiality, and independent problem-solving.

The HR Specialist supports the HR Manager and HR Director by handling intermediate to moderately complex HR cases, ensuring divisional compliance with TSA policy, California and Nevada employment laws, and federal regulations.

  1. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  2. Serve as a division-level subject matter expert for UKG workflows, troubleshooting, transaction accuracy, and reporting.
  3. Lead division-wide compliance audits, including I-9s, personnel files, AB506, background checks, and mandatory trainings. Will work closely with, and act as first point of contact for divisional PTM inquiries.
  4. Oversee the full onboarding workflow, ensuring accuracy, legal compliance, and timely processing
  5. Will act as lead on all seasonal hiring for Kettles and Camp.
  6. Provide direct support to Corps and Camps with training on new hire processes, TSAMM, and on boarding documents.
  7. Main point of contact for all TSAMM related issues or concerns
  8. Manages the HR Dept's Landing page, keeping all documents updated and accessible by the field.
  9. Keeps hiring packets for both CA and NV current and available to all field units, including Kettle Season hiring packets.
  10. Acts as main liaison between DHQ and CBRRC regarding background check decisions.
  11. Conducts all I-9 and TR checks/ verifications
  12. Manages Sexual Harassment training for the division, both for new hires and mandatory annual trainings.
  1. Keeps abreast of employment law updates for both CA and NV. Will stay current with HR trends, including technology, state and federal guidelines, Software, etc.
  2. Works closely with Director of HR to solve complex HR issues, supports employee investigations, record keeping and communications with THQ HR.
  3. Assist with external and THQ audits.
  4. Assist HR team with responding to all government agencies request, and route to appropriate internal department when necessary.

  7. High School or GED

2.AA Degree desired

3.2-3 years administrative support

4.Previous experience supporting a Human Resources department is required

5.Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel, as well as working knowledge of HRIS systems

6.Organized & Detail Oriented

7.Ability to multi-task

8.Effective communication skills

9.High level on integrity ability to maintain confidential information

1.Must possess a valid California Class C Driver License, and ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicle.

2.Must be 21 years or older.

3.Complete The Salvation Army vehicle course training.
