Overview

The Summit at Snoqualmie is the Pacific Northwest's premier multi mountain ski resort, located 47 miles east of Seattle at Snoqualmie Pass. The property spans five base areas and 20 chairlifts across Summit West, Summit Central, Summit East, and Alpental within the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. A four-season operating model includes a mountain bike park and one of the most accessible ski destinations in North America.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

The HR Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and facilitation of various departmental processes and programs. This position works closely with the HR Team to support a wide variety of HR functions, including recruitment and staffing, training and orientation, and employee communication and recognition programs. The HR Coordinator takes initiative to ensure tasks and responsibilities are completed accurately, efficiently, and proficiently.

Long Term Thinking

  • Helps improve HR initiatives by assisting with existing processes, identifying and clarifying problems, and evaluating potential solutions.
  • Documents and maintain operational procedures by developing a wide variety of written materials (e.g., forms, SOPs, etc.).

Excellence in Execution

  • Works closely with Summit staff and leaders to help facilitate the new hire/rehire process.
  • Assists with data related to onboarding, offboarding, and employee data changes in the payroll system.
  • Performs daily uniform distribution activities and maintains the uniform inventory control system.
  • Processes and maintains periodic reports as requested by the VP of HR.

Attitude is Everything

  • Responds to general questions regarding human resources policies and procedures from employees and supervisors.
  • Compiles content and helps manage the employee website and newsletters.

Develop Great People

  • Provides support with international employee programs.
  • Participates in the monthly Safety Committee meeting as requested.

Serve First

  • Assists in planning and hosting employee events
  • Provides responsive support to employees, supervisors, and the HR Team as departmental needs arise.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Must have computer skills to include Microsoft Word and Excel, and database programs
  • Must have excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Basic understanding of HR principles, recruiting, and some event logistics helpful
  • Ability to set priorities and adapt to changes in a quick, professional manner
  • Must show demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential material.
  • Must have the ability to communicate and relate effectively with a very diverse group of team members.
  • Adheres to confidentiality policies within Human Resources, and ensures the HR database is accurate and secure.
  • Uses independent judgment, initiative, and good human relations and problem solving skills in the application and follows through on actions.
  • Exhibits sound and accurate judgment; Includes appropriate people in conversations
  • Background Check Required.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED. Must be able to multitask in a fast paced and sometimes stressful environment. Not required but recommended bachelor’s degree or associate’s degree or 1-2 years experience.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This is essentially an indoor clerical position. There are times the HR Specialist will be required to move between base areas or work off-site.

Wage and Benefit Info:

The wage range for this positions is: $25 - $28/DOE
