Objective:

This position is located in our Chicago plant Freedman by Lippert. This position supports the human resources department partnering with department leaders to create a premier work environment. This position will also directly serve team members by answering or directing human resource questions and driving engagement.

Essential Functions

  1. Promotes and fosters a healthy work environment; raises awareness of available programs to assist Team Members;
  2. Answers Team Member questions related to human resources policy; provides written and verbal communications to Team Members in a confidential manner
  3. Advises leaders on people issues, elevating complex issues to Representative or Leader;
  4. Provides payroll assistance
    1. Conducts weekly audits, reports and assists in clearing exceptions;
    2. Responsible for communicating with third party staffing agencies regarding payroll;
    3. Answers Team Member questions regarding payroll
  5. Reports on online training completion and assists Team Members in completing assigned courses;
  6. Acts as on-site contact for Leaves of Absence;
  7. Conducts new hire orientation and has shared responsibility in onboarding process;
  8. Participates in recruitment and interview processes;
  9. Assists Team Members with enrolling in benefits, including presenting open enrollment meetings;
  10. Responsible for collaboratively implementing team member recognition programs and fostering engagement;
  11. Assists in internal and external marketing efforts;
  12. Other duties as assigned.

  17. Ability to effectively respond to and interact with all levels of organizational staff, including executives

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily working indoors, office environment.
  • Prolonged exposure to computer screens.
  • Repetitive use of hands to operate computers.
  • Presence will be expected on manufacturing and warehouse floors.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Compensation

Salary of $23- $25 per hour

Freedman by Lippert determines pay based on several factors, including but not limited to the position being offered, education, skills, work experience, and other factors permitted by law. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly talk and listen. This position is not very active when it comes to movement and requires a lot of typing and sitting in a chair.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday; weekend and off-shift work may be required at times.

Travel

Minimal travel is expected for this position.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a human resources department
  3. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
  4. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a role requiring strong computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook)
  5. Ability to multitask with different requirements applying to the position.
