Job Description

Work Environment: Fast-paced, food manufacturer, occasionally requiring plant floor presence with PPE.

We are seeking a hands-on HR Coordinator to support the day-to-day Human Resources operations at our 24/7 manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for providing administrative and employee support across a variety of HR functions, including onboarding, employee relations, payroll, benefits administration, HRIS maintenance, and recordkeeping.
The HR Coordinator serves as a key resource for employees by responding to HR-related questions, maintaining accurate personnel records, and helping create a positive, engaging, and productive workplace. This is an entry-level HR position that works within established procedures under moderate supervision and requires the application of knowledge gained through education, training, or prior work experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Support & Employee Relations
• Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, payroll, attendance, and company programs.
• Assist in resolving routine employee concerns and escalate complex issues to HR leadership as needed.
• Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and company events.
• Foster positive employee relations by promoting open communication and a respectful workplace culture.
• Assist with investigations, documentation, and follow-up related to employee relations matters.
Onboarding & Talent Support
• Coordinate onboarding activities for new hires.
• Conduct new hire orientation and ensure completion of required employment documentation.
• Assist with new hire retention and engagement efforts.
HR Administration & Compliance
• Compile, maintain, and update employee records, personnel files, and HR documentation.
• Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of employee information and records.
• Prepare employment-related forms, correspondence, and reports.
• Support compliance with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local employment regulations.
• Assist with audits and record retention requirements.
• Payroll, Benefits & HRIS
• Support payroll processing by reviewing employee data, timekeeping records, and payroll documentation for accuracy.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay and benefits.
• Assist with benefits enrollment, changes, and employee communication.
• Maintain employee data within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
General HR Support
• Support HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts within the HR department.
• Provide administrative support to the HR team.
Qualifications
Required
• Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of Human Resources or related experience.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• Bilingual Spanish or Creole is a plus.
• Experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.
• Familiarity with HRIS and payroll systems.
• Knowledge of employment laws and HR practices.
• HR certification or interest in pursuing an HR career path.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and occasionally walk production floors.
• Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout the facility as needed.
• May require occasional flexibility to support employees across multiple shifts, including evenings or weekends.
