Are you an organized HR professional ready to take the next step in your career? Amentum is seeking a proactive HR Coordinator to provide critical operational and administrative support across our flagship programs.
In this dynamic role, you will act as the engine room of our HR department, managing workflows across both Australian and US jurisdictions. You will balance day-to-day administrative execution with active stakeholder engagement, ensuring our defense program teams are fully supported.
Work Schedule:
Day shift – 5 days per week, 8 hours per day
Essential Responsibilities:
HR Workflow Coordination: Manage and process end-to-end personnel actions, contract variations, and onboarding workflows using Workday and customer data systems.
Dual-Jurisdiction Support: Coordinate benefits enrollment for US employees and superannuation workflows for Australian personnel.
Data & Compliance Ownership: Maintain absolute data integrity across our AU/US HRIS and payroll systems, ensuring compliance with local legislation and strict defense audit requirements.
Stakeholder Support: Serve as a trusted first point of contact for employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and basic entitlements.
Process Improvement: Actively contribute to updating local HR policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training documentation.
What You Bring
Certificate IV in Human Resources (or a related Business discipline)
2+ years of experience in an HR administration, coordination, or support role (defense, contracting, government, or heavy industry experience is a major plus).
Proven, hands-on experience utilizing Workday or equivalent enterprise-tier HRIS platforms, alongside strong MS Office skills.
A foundational understanding of Australian Fair Work regulations and/or US labor standards.
High attention to detail, exceptional discretion when handling classified or confidential files, and the ability to communicate confidently with varied stakeholders.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with operating knowledge of SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite, and integrated software applications are required.
Experience supporting defense industry programs or working within a dual AU/US corporate matrix.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Desk-based, sedentary role requiring prolonged use of computers.
Occasional lifting of office materials up to 5kg.
High cognitive demand requiring rapid context-switching between operational compliance tasks and administrative data entry.
Security Clearance Required:
Minimum active or ability to obtain Australian Negative Vetting (NV1) equivalent Department of Defense Security Clearance and ability to maintain that clearance. Depending on ongoing mission needs and access the role requires, the candidate may be required to obtain a higher Australian Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) clearance.
This position is designated as a safety sensitive position.
