Why Texas Association of School Boards (TASB)
We come from humble beginnings — picture a one-person organization created in 1949 to advocate for excellence in public education on behalf of Texas school board members. Flash forward to today, and we have over 500 employees working together to provide 1,024 school districts with purposeful resources so they can focus on what matters most — excellent and equitable education for all 5.4 million Texas students.
TASB offers competitive pay, rich benefits (including retirement matching of 2:1 up to 5% after one year. This means that if you contribute 5% to the plan, TASB will contribute 10%), onsite daycare, onsite gym, wellness program, tuition reimbursement, remote work options, flexible schedules, and more.
Every role at TASB thoughtfully complements our mission and the educational impact being made in communities across Texas. If you consider your work exceptional and want to help drive our mission forward, keep reading!
About The HR Services Division
For 40 years, HR Services has provided consulting services, training and development, and resources to educational entities, Texas school leaders, and human resources administrators and staff. We’re looking to meet the needs of Texas school districts, regional service centers, and community colleges by hiring three consultants to fill vacancies due to retirements. These are remote positions, but candidates must reside in Texas and be able to travel frequently within Texas.
Well-qualified candidates typically start at (or around) $85,000

We're a nonprofit, nonpartisan, education association that serves Texas school boards — the largest group of publicly elected officials in the state.
The Texas Association of School Boards is a voluntary, nonprofit, nonpartisan, statewide educational association established in 1949 to serve local Texas school boards — the largest group of publicly elected officials in the state with more than 7,000 school board trustees.
Our mission is to promote educational excellence for Texas public schoolchildren through advocacy, visionary leadership, and high-quality services to school districts.
TASB has 75 years of experience with Texas public schools and provides assistance in all areas of public-school governance and operation with high-quality solutions and services designed to support the critical work of educating the millions of public schoolchildren in our state.
For decades, nearly all school boards in Texas have been active members of TASB — giving us the opportunity to coalesce and amplify school trustees’ voices across the state. Our longstanding membership rate is the result of keeping the needs of school boards — and their districts — at the heart of everything we do.
The initial focuses of TASB — advocacy, training, and information resources — are as important today as they were in the beginning. And as schools have had to respond to inevitable challenges, so has TASB responded with innovative solutions and services that seek to minimize the operational burdens of government and keep taxpayer resources for the benefit of local schools and their communities. Besides legal, policy, and human resources support, member school boards have access to risk management services, investment and insurance assistance, a purchasing cooperative, an energy cooperative, facility services, special population consulting, and more.
