The global Human Resource (HR) Function provides an integrated talent management system that delivers a workforce that is Corning's competitive differentiator in the global marketplace.

HR provides service offerings that align solutions to business challenges by ensuring the programs are Effective, Efficient, Global, Scaleable, and Repeatable. Role Purpose

The Human Resources Manager will primarily be responsible for establishing and implementing HR processes and governance across Corning Optical Communication (COC) sites, to ensure compliance with the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) Code of Conduct and Validated Assessment Program (VAP). Secondly, responsibilities will include support for all aspects of human resources practices and processes and will support strategic and operational HR initiatives across COC. This role will serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, providing guidance in areas such as RBA, employee relations, compliance, performance management, organizational development, policy implementation, and fostering a positive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation of the labor and ethics categories of the RBA Code of Conduct across all COC sites and ensure the sites are VAP Audit ready to receive certification
  • Educate leaders on the labor and ethics RBA focus areas
  • Establish and execute RBA governance processes to include HR policy and procedure assessments, controls, records, and management systems
  • Drive RBA compliance through continuous improvement actions to include internal audits, gap analysis, training, etc.
  • Partner with plant HR teams to ensure all findings are closed and continuous improvements are implemented
  • Deploy and implement HR policies, procedures, and initiatives aligned with Corning and COC HR organizational goals and strategies
  • Advise leaders on HR-related matters, workforce planning, and organizational development
  • Manage disciplinary actions and grievance procedures
  • Oversee compensation structures, benefits programs, and payroll coordination

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • At least 4-6 years of progressive HR experience (generalist/specialist)
  • Knowledge of RBA or other audit processes preferred

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, processes, and employment laws
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills; able to maintain professionalism and handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and attention-to-detail skills; able to prioritize tasks and manage accurate HR documentation and data
  • Strong problem-solving and judgment in a fast-paced environment, including the ability to listen effectively, resolve conflict, deliver difficult feedback, and influence decisions and recommendations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365

The range for this position is $79,519.00 - $109,339.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
