Description

Job PurposeThe HR Business Partner, Field supports HR operations across all PDC locations by assisting in administering Employee Relations (ER) programs, conducting and coordinating ER investigations, and ensuring adherence to state and federal requirements in HR, Workers’ Compensation, Safety, Security, and employment best practices.The role collaborates closely with Workers’ Compensation, Safety, and Security administrators and requires cross-training to provide coverage as needed. The HRBP monitors company policies and provides timely, practical support to PDC and corporate personnel to maintain compliance and promote a positive and safe workplace. Ethical conduct and professionalism are essential.Key AccountabilitiesEmployee RelationsInvestigate employee complaints, gather statements, review evidence, maintain investigation logs, and draft summaries and findings for management review.Advise management on appropriate actions while ensuring compliance with EEO laws.Support managers with disciplinary actions and prepare Disciplinary Action Notices (DANs) consistent with investigation outcomes and company policy.Partner with PDC managers and employees to resolve employee relations issues through coaching, counseling, and conflict resolution.Escalate complex employee relations matters to Corporate Employee Relations.Coordinate closely with Corporate Employee Relations to ensure consistency in case management and policy interpretation.Manage employee separations and conduct exit interviews.Provide guidance to management regarding employment law compliance, EEO requirements, and anti-harassment policies.SafetyImplement and reinforce companywide safety programs, training initiatives, and Injury and Illness Prevention Programs (IIPP).Coordinate safety training and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.Partner with PDC management to address safety concerns promptly.Ensure weekly safety audits are completed and corrective actions are implemented.Conduct audits of prevention efforts to verify compliance.Ensure identified safety hazards are resolved and documented appropriately.Participate in local Safety Awareness Teams and maintain meeting documentation and follow-up actions.Participate in Corporate Safety Team meetings and communicate relevant updates locally.Investigate employee safety concerns and ensure timely resolution.Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for the EHS system and provide training and reporting support.Ensure all prevention efforts, safety training, and documentation are uploaded into the EHS system.Serve as a local SME on safety policies, training programs, IIPP requirements, and procedures.Ensure all employees, supervisors, and managers receive required safety training.Act as liaison between local management and Corporate Safety teams.Maintain knowledge of federal and state regulations related to HR, Workers’ Compensation, Safety, Security, and employment practices.Partner closely with the Safety and Workers' Compensation Supervisor to support safety and WC programs.Act as the site's safety gatekeeper and escalate concerns to Corporate Safety as needed.Workers’ CompensationEnsure employees and managers are trained on injury, illness, and accident reporting procedures.Conduct and ensure complete investigations for all workplace injuries, illnesses, and accidents.Verify all required documentation, physician notes, and supporting information are uploaded into the EHS system.Maintain ongoing communication with injured employees and support return-to-work processes.Partner with the Workers’ Compensation Manager to manage claims, reduce exposure, and control claim costs.Escalate complex claims requiring additional investigation or immediate attention.RecruitingConduct New Hire Orientation for PDC employees on a bi-weekly basis.Partner with recruiting teams and hiring managers, including participation in Recruiting Tracker meetings.Support onboarding activities including offer letters, background checks, I-9 verification, and badge/access setup.Participate in interviewing and candidate screening as requested.Other ResponsibilitiesProvide onsite HR support and partner with Corporate HR regarding benefits, leave administration, and HR operations.Maintain knowledge of federal and state employment laws including EEO, FMLA, FLSA, ADA, CFRA, FEHA/CRD, OSHA, and related regulations.Support compliance across PDC and Corporate locations.Demonstrate ethical leadership and professionalism.Travel as needed to support business operations.Provide multi-site HR support across PDC locations.Train managers and employees on HR, Employee Relations, Workers’ Compensation, Security, and Safety programs.Collaborate effectively with all HR team members.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Provide timely support to management and employees for planning, problem-solving, and employee relations matters.Ensure compliance with federal and state laws relating to HR, Employee Relations, Workers’ Compensation, Safety, Security, and Recruiting.Investigate employee complaints, including safety concerns, workers’ compensation issues, harassment, discrimination, and pay concerns, within established timelines.Prepare accurate reports and responses to government agencies and internal stakeholders.Support development, revision, and maintenance of Employee Relations policies and procedures.Gather employee feedback and support implementation of HR initiatives based on organizational needs.Collaborate across HR functions to strengthen Employee Relations, Safety, Recruiting, and Workers’ Compensation programs.Benchmark and implement HR best practices.Assist with employee engagement surveys and action planning initiatives.Deliver and coordinate HR and Employee Relations training programs.Cross-train with HR team members to ensure business continuity.Participate in process improvement initiatives and HR program reviews.Maintain HR documentation, training materials, and reference resources.Prepare ad hoc reports for leadership.Maintain a high level of accuracy and quality with minimal errors.Keep management informed of emerging issues and concerns.Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Employee Relations, investigations, progressive discipline, terminations, Safety, and other HR programs.Work ScheduleStandard business hours.Must be flexible to support 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift operations as needed.TravelOccasional overnight travel up to 20% by land and/or air.

Required Qualifications
