With a close-knit global team, we’re dedicated to creating an environment where every individual can thrive. Join us to shape a workplace that supports growth, celebrates diversity, and empowers our people to excel.

Efficio is looking for a commercially minded and hands-on HR Business Partner to support our growing US business. This is an opportunity to become a trusted adviser to senior leaders, managers and employees, and to turn business priorities into practical, people-focused solutions.

You will combine strategic business partnering with hands-on delivery across employee relations, performance, organisational change, employment-law compliance and employee experience. The role is based in either New York or Chicago. New York-based colleagues are expected in the New York office three days per week. Chicago-based colleagues will travel to the New York office for one week each month.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Partnership & Stakeholder Management

  • Build trusted relationships with US leaders, managers and employees, acting as their first point of contact for people matters.
  • Translate business plans, workforce needs and organisational risks into clear, practical people plans.
  • Coach managers through team dynamics, feedback, employee development and sensitive conversations.

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Manage employee relations matters with sound judgement, appropriate documentation, confidentiality and consistency.
  • Provide practical guidance on applicable US federal, state and local employment law, company policy and HR best practice; engage Legal or external counsel where needed.
  • Support managers on performance, conduct, probation, grievance, leave and reasonable-accommodation matters.

People Programmes & Employee Experience

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition, Finance and the global People team on workforce planning, talent, reward and organisational change initiatives.
  • Use people data and employee feedback to identify trends, mitigate risks and improve the employee experience.
  • Contribute to scalable policies, processes, manager guidance and local engagement initiatives across the US business.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • At least 4 years of progressive HR experience, ideally in an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist role with significant business-partnering responsibility.
  • Working knowledge of US federal, state and local employment law, with the judgement to identify risk and seek specialist advice when appropriate.
  • Experience managing employee relations and advising managers on performance and sensitive people matters.
  • Strong stakeholder-management, coaching and communication skills, including the ability to influence senior leaders.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and balancing strategic priorities with hands-on operational delivery.
  • Strong analytical skills and confidence using HRIS and people data.
  • Discreet, proactive and highly organised, with the ability to handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Authorised to work in the United States.

Our collaborative and inclusive culture is what makes us stand out. At Efficio, colleagues with diverse backgrounds, ideas, and viewpoints come together to identify innovative solutions for our clients - and so we're looking for our new team members to bring strong communication, empathy, and relationship-building skills to maintain this culture as we grow.

We encourage our teams to proactively innovate and challenge the status-quo, backed by strong analytical thinking and creative problem-solving abilities. Strong opportunities for career growth are an important part of our offering; as such, we love seeing ambition and a proactive approach to shaping your career to your goals and interests.
