Position: HR Business Partner
The HR Business Partner will support our plant under the direction of the Manager of HR (not located on site) and Plant Manager The HR Business Partner will provide professional support to Leaders, Managers, and individual plant contributors. This position is 40% strategic/forward-thinking, 55% HR employee relations, investigations, recruiting and 5% misc.; requires skills beyond administration/managing existing programs.
Responsibilities
- Understand core business objectives and how HR goals link to business priorities.
- Daily point of contact for employees and people managers related to HR policies, procedures and programs.
- Building relationships with all levels of staff at the facility, especially hourly employees.
- On-site Culture champion in partnership with HR leadership and initiatives.
- Develops and proposes improvements to policies, programs, systems and procedures to enhance the effectiveness of the Human Resources Department.
- Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relation issues, conducts investigations and handles employee relations counseling with related employee population.
- Coordinates the recruiting and staffing initiatives required for the facility, including background checks and pre-employment drug testing in conjunction with the Manager, Talent Acquisition and corporate processes.
- Coordinates new employee orientation/onboarding activities, employee development and training, and associated recordkeeping.
- Coordinates documentation and communication of Worker’s Compensation-related issues with the Manager, EHS as well as with state agencies and/or insurance representatives as required or requested.
- Maintains and secures sensitive employee records in accordance with company policy(ies) and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations regarding confidentiality. Performs exit interviews with employees who are separated from company employment either voluntarily or involuntarily.
- Participates in plant management meeting(s) as requested or assigned in order to provide appropriate HR perspective to issues affecting the operation of the facility.
- Communicates directly with the company’s Human Resources Manager, requesting assistance and/or guidance in all HR matters that are beyond the scope of knowledge or experience.
- Flexible for 24/7 shift meetings for employee engagement and communication meetings.
- Multi-site support of both Anderson, SC and Greer, SC
- Involved in ISO IATF audits for the Greer facility.
- Additional management, HR and compliance reporting
- Serve as backup for various HR responsibilities.
- Other related duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degrees plus 4 years of Human Resources experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Proven ability to prioritize workload, multi-task and manage conflicting priorities of daily tasks, as well as those that support business leader.
- Multi-Site HR support preferred;
- Ability to travel if necessary to support other sites outside of South Carolina.
- Thrive in a high-pressure environment.
- High level of comfort using data and attention to detail.
- Experience working in a fast paced industrial/manufacturing environment, quickly changing and highly ambiguous environment.
- Professional certification; PHR and/or SHRM-CP preferred
