HR Business Partner

As a HR Business Partner, you will be a fundamental part of the HR Department. You will be an instrumental part of a busy HR team supporting a growing business across the UK. You will be a key member of the Operational HR Management team, you will be responsible for providing a pro-active partner service to the Contracts delivering value added, strategically aligned support to the team in the development and delivery of people strategies to support the operations and the wider organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a wide-ranging HR Business Partnering services to management, ensuring that all managers have the necessary tools and capability to professionally manage themselves and their people.
- Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership to address the people challenges for the contract area.
- Use contract dashboards to inform decisions and make recommendations to Contract Directors & contract teams.
- Management of HR Projects within the business.
- Build management capability through coaching and challenging on people management & decisions.
- Create solutions to people issues that enable Managers to better meet their commercial objectives.
- Advise Managers and HR Advisors on HR legal and employee relations matters to ensure consistency, legal compliance and and risk mitigation.
- Plan and implement HR initiatives and projects aligned to HR & Learning and Development strategic Planning process and business driven initiatives.
- HR lead in relation to talent mapping in conjunction with L&D Team and assist L&D team with
- Professional development discussions.
- Manage, advise and coach HR Advisor.
- HR lead on TUPE transfers and acquisitions, in contract area, and form part of mobilisation teams
- HR lead in ACAS or Tribunal cases and be escalation in employee relations cases.
- Keep up-to-date with latest legislation and Employment law.
- Manage employee Reward by helping build and maintain grading structures and assessing job sector pay pressures.
- Work closely with Contract Directors to maintain bonus scheme information for annual review.
- Work closely with Contract Directors on annual pay review ensuring rules are closely followed and correct percentages and adhered to.
- Attend monthly Management meetings with Contract Directors
- HR lead on diversity & inclusion programmes on Contracts.
- Work with Training Manager to proactively understand and manage training compliance on contracts and work with HR Advisor in monitoring.
- Be accountable for HR trackers (linked to monthly board) reporting are kept up-to-date and accurate
- Work with Contract Directors to build contract specific resource plans alongside getting involved in higher level business wide Bid Pipeline business and resource planning.
- Operate as a true HRBP to the business, forming strong relationships and creating commercially focused solutions.
Experience and Qualifications
- CIPD Level 5 qualified (or working towards)
- Ability to deliver HR services across multiple sites.
- Ability to travel regularly to operational sites within your responsibility, which will include overnight stays.
- Experience of operational management styles.
- High quality communication and stakeholder management capabilities
- Good excel, word and powerpoint abilities.
- Knowledge of HR Systems
- Be well-organised and excellent at managing time and prioritising tasks
- Logical, analytical and problem solving for evaluating business metrics and determining ways to improve results.
- High quality written skills in relation to letters, outcomes and report writing.
- Pleasant, approachable personalities and work well as part of a team.
- Positive personality to help to have more productive meetings with managers and stakeholders.
- Comprehensive understanding of the industry, focus areas and business trends.
