Läderach

About Läderach

Läderach is a Swiss chocolate factory that is internationally renowned for its high-quality fresh chocolate. In addition to the famous FrischSchoggi, its product range includes fine pralines and truffles, Italian tartufi and a host of other creations. Over the past 60 years, Läderach has repeatedly introduced impressive new chocolate ideas and revolutionized the market with innovations, such as the production of thin-walled hollow truffle shells. Its other innovations included the open sale of FrischSchoggi in its branded chocolateries, along with the innovative development of Mini Mousse. What’s more, it also introduced vegan chocolate. Elias Läderach confirmed his groundbreaking role at the World Chocolate Masters in 2018, when he showcased the company's exceptional chocolate expertise with his impressive victory.

The family company was founded in Ennenda (Canton Glarus) in 1962. It has been run by brothers Johannes, Elias and David Läderach, the third generation of the Läderach family, since 2021. Läderach is one of the leading names in the Swiss chocolate industry and still has its production facilities exclusively in Glarus. The rapidly expanding group now employs over 2,500 people from more than 80 countries and operates over 250 chocolateries across the world – including in Paris, New York and Shanghai.

Läderach is one of the few chocolate producers to oversee the entire process from the cocoa bean to sales in its own chocolateries – from bean to bar – and to produce its own fresh couvertures. It ensures the highest quality with premium raw materials and selected ingredients, a generous portion of passion and professional artisanal skills. Läderach prioritizes sustainability and social responsibility with the utmost importance. The company sources regional Swiss raw materials wherever possible and pays its cocoa farmers well above the market price.
