Job Description
HR Associate (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Santa Clara, CA (Onsite)
Employment Type: 3–6 Month Contract with Strong Potential for Full-Time Employment
Compensation: $42-45HR W-2
About the Opportunity
New Gig Solutions is partnering with an innovative, fast-growing medical device startup in Santa Clara to identify an HR Associate who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a company that is experiencing significant growth. The initial engagement is expected to be a 3–6 month contract, with a strong possibility of converting to a full-time employee based on business needs and individual performance. While full-time conversion is not guaranteed, the company is actively expanding and anticipates adding permanent team members as it grows.
This isn't a role for someone who simply maintains HR processes—we're looking for someone who enjoys building them.
The ideal candidate has a reputation for getting things done. You know how to identify opportunities for improvement, gain buy-in from stakeholders, implement new ideas, and successfully execute projects from start to finish. If you're energized by creating structure in a growing company, this is a fantastic opportunity.
What You'll Do
- Partner with leadership to improve and scale HR processes across the organization.
- Administer employee benefits and serve as a resource for employee questions.
- Help design, implement, and continuously improve performance management programs and employee development initiatives.
- Support onboarding, offboarding, and the full employee lifecycle.
- Maintain accurate employee records within HR systems.
- Generate HR reports and analyze workforce data to support business decisions.
- Assist with policy development, process documentation, and compliance initiatives.
- Support employee relations while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Partner with managers to improve employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline HR workflows.
- Contribute to special projects as the organization continues to scale.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of Human Resources experience.
- Startup or high-growth company experience strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms, particularly Rippling and/or Sequoia, is highly preferred.
- Experience administering employee benefits.
- Experience building or improving performance management processes—not just administering existing programs.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret HR metrics and workforce data.
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills are a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Outstanding communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone known for making things happen.
Someone who can identify a problem, develop a solution, rally people around the idea, and successfully execute it. You enjoy creating structure where it doesn't exist, improving processes, and taking ownership from start to finish. You're proactive, resourceful, and thrive in environments where priorities can shift quickly.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
- Join an exciting and rapidly growing medical device startup.
- Opportunity to make a meaningful impact while helping build scalable HR processes.
- Work directly with leadership and influence the future of the HR function.
- Initial 3–6 month contract with a strong opportunity for full-time employment as the company continues to grow.
