We’re hiring an HR Advisor, Indigenous Workforce Development to help advance Suncor’s Inclusion & Diversity Strategy. You’ll partner with Indigenous communities and stakeholders to strengthen employment and recruitment initiatives, leverage data to drive progress, and help build inclusive HR solutions that reflect Indigenous cultures, protocols, and worldviews.

Minimum Requirements:

• Five to Seven years of related human resources experience in a complex, professional environment
• Strong understanding of, and/or lived experience with, Indigenous cultures, protocols, and worldviews, with the ability to support effective relationship building and solution delivery
• Demonstrated project and program management experience
• Ability to analyze people data and develop reports that demonstrate progress, identify areas for improvement, and support decision-making
• Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strategic mindset with the ability to think beyond current programs and stay informed of industry trends

Responsibilities:

• Advance the design and implementation of Indigenous workforce development initiatives in support of Suncor’s Inclusion & Diversity Strategy and Journey of Reconciliation
• Build and manage relationships with select Indigenous communities and develop collaborative goals in support of skills, employment, and training (SET)
• Track and report data, outcomes, and progress to internal governance bodies, Council, and senior executives
• Support Indigenous programs by identifying where new solutions are needed and supporting and/or leading their implementation
• Identify and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support effective program delivery
• Provide input to inform the Journey of Reconciliation, HR programs, and employee inclusion networks
• Support other inclusion and diversity priorities as identified

Location and other Key details:

• This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Stoney Creek Village office in Fort McMurray, Alberta, located at 108 Riverstone Ridge 
• Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
• This position requires travel to various Indigenous Communities for meetings and events on a regular basis, including weekends
• Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
