Job Description

The HR Advisor is part of the Corporate Operations HR Business Partner team and acts as a trusted HR partner to our client groups. The role focuses on supporting our high-volume teams in the Inventory, Asset Protection and Facilities organizations, with additional support for Store Operations as needed. The HR Advisor works closely with managers and supervisors to deliver a broad range of HR priorities including employee relations, performance management, compliance, and organizational health reporting to help leaders build effective, engaged teams. The role is supported by the HR Director of Store Operations and Facilities Operations.

A day in the life...

  • Generate, analyze, and distribute accurate HR reports in a timely and effective manner; support org health reporting by tracking and synthesizing key workforce metrics (headcount, turnover, absenteeism, compliance rates) to surface trends and inform HRBP recommendations.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for HR processes, including required compliance training and providing support and guidance to stakeholders.

  • Identify trends and recommend follow-up needed with leaders related to compliance, hiring, and performance management processes

  • Communicate status updates on training and required rhythm-of-the business activities with clarity and consistency

  • Collaborate with Managers and Supervisors to provide guidance on PDD and PIP processes where required.

  • Use company policies and procedures to ensure consistency in handling ER cases.

  • Track ER cases for the assigned groups, identify trends, and escalate ER cases to HRBPs, the ER team, or other groups as needed.

You own this if you have...

  • 3+ years’ experience in human resources or related field

  • Experience working in the retail industry preferred

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • A high level of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people at different levels, including senior managers and leaders.

  • Experience in using workforce dashboards or org health reports; comfort working with HR data and translating into insights.

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.

LOCATION:

This is a hybrid role requiring the selected candidate to be located within a commutable distance of the Nordstrom corporate offices in downtown Seattle, WA and work onsite four (4) days per week.

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below has been provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different for other locations.
Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Washington: $60,500 - $96,000 AnnuallyThis position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
